"You what?" Anastasia stated in disbelieve. She was standing in the hallway of her in laws as she received the call that would change her world forever.

"I have a daughter." her brother repeated, his voice equally filled with disbelieve. A frown started to form on her forehead as she heard a soft cry on the background. It was the kind of cry she recognised from when Nickolai was still a little baby.

"But... how?" Anastasia hesitantly asked her brother, who now apparently was a father. Images of Vadim being a father started to form in her mind, a shiver went down her back as she thought about it.

Did her brother even know what do with a baby? She could still remember when Nickolai was a baby, Vadim had almost dropped him more than one time in the few times he held her son. Vadim just didn't really know how to care for a baby. Concern started to bubble up in her when she thought about her little niece, would he even know how to feed her? Change her? Did he even know how to hold a baby?

"Roksana." was all her brother said to answer her question, Anastasia almost didn't hear him for it was just above a whisper.

"That bitch?!" She shouted, before clasping her hand over her mouth. Anastasia for a second had forgotten that she was still in her in laws' house with her family in the room next to her.

Seconds later Dimitri entered the room with a concerned look on his face. He asked her if something was going on, before their son also walked into the hall.

"I'll call you later, Vadim. I want to know everything." She told her brother, before hanging up the phone.

"Who was that mommy?" Nickolai asked his mother.

Anastasia was about to answer her son, before she got cut off by Dimitri. "Son, I want you to go to grandma, now." Her husband told Nickolai, who immediately left the room to find his grandmother.

"Who was calling you?" Dimitri asked, his arms crossed over his chest. He had a expression of concern and curiosity on his face.

"Vadim..." Anastasia answered to her husband, hesitating slightly before continuing, "he has a daughter."

Dimitri gave her a funny look, before he started to laugh. "He has a daughter. That's really funny Stacy, but what's really going on?" He pulled his wife to his chest, engulfing her in a hug.

"I'm serious, Dimitri." He gave her a confused look, before it dawned on him.

"I want to go to his house, now." Anastasia demanded.

"Okay sweetheart, I'll get Nick." He said before he left the room to go get their son.

"Where did you get yourself into this time, Vadim." She softly whispered, as she walked towards the wardrobe to get her jacket. She felt slightly nervous for what was to come.

She wasn't the only one feeling nervous, three hours away from her, Vadim was sitting on his couch. He had his sleeping daughter in his arms, her little eyelids were closed, hiding her light blue eyes. Vadim was admiring his daughter, still feeling slightly confused about the fatherly feelings he had for this little girl.

"My little Karina." He softly whispered, while slowly striking his hand through her icy blond, almost white, hair.

Sadly the little moment was disturbed as Alexei entered the room. "What's going on, boss? Why did I-" he stopped talking as soon as he saw the baby in Vadim's arms.

"Silence." Vadim commanded, while looking down to make sure Karina hadn't woken up.

Alexei carefully walked towards Vadim, not understanding what was going on and why his boss was holding this baby.

"Alexei, may I present to you my daughter Karina." Vadim whispered in awe, softly kissing Karina on the forehead before he continued. "I want you to get everything a baby could possibly need. Alexei, you have children, you'll know what to get."

It took his first in command a few seconds to form an answer, "Off course boss right away, do you have anything in mind?"

"I want the nursery in the empty room next to mine, make it perfect." Alexei quickly turned around to go and get everything, before he came to a halt as his boss spoke again. "Oh and tell my mistresses I don't want to see them for at least a month or two."

"Right away, boss." Alexei whispered, while leaving the room.
