'Legolas!' I called. 'Legolas, where are you!' I ran around like a screaming mad woman to find him. Why did he have to be so damn fast.

I finally managed to find him already throwing random paraphernalia into a bag. He was muttering to himself, which was never a good sign.

I slowly crept in and he didn't even notice me in his flustered state.

'I'm gone for a week and this just has to happen. It's like the world is punishing me or something. I get to find my friend but then shortly after, she tried to kill herself, then my father is probably dead and it's all my fault because I was too freaking busy sorting out pla-' he stopped mumbling under his breath when he noticed I was in the room.

'Legolas, I'm sorry,' I cut him off. He gave me a snarling look, but then softened it.

'I'm going home to my father,' he informed me. 'I don't care if you come, I just need to go home.'

I felt sick. I was told that Legolas came only because he heard that I may have been here in Imladris, now I only realise that it's my fault that Thranduil may have been dead and Mirkwood was attacked. If only I had just gone to Mirkwood and Erebor to tell them about Sauron. The dwarves probably thought that elves killed those dwarves that I found on the road with Gandalf. Everything was my fault. I had to tell Legolas it was all my fault, but I couldn't.

Legolas kept packing, brushing past me like I was invisible.

'I'll come with you,' was all I managed. 'It's all my fault that this has happened.' He didn't care. I couldn't blame him.

'It's not your fault,' He snapped. 'Stop punishing yourself, you already feel bad for me getting angry at you, you're already dealing with several crises of your own. It's ok that you couldn't save the world, it's ok that you disappeared for years, it's ok that I thought you were dead. Because right now, nothing matters anymore,' he was beginning to calm down. 'Nothing matters to me right now than my family and you.' I could see a gleam of sadness in his eyes, he meant what he said and he really meant it. His words were so kind and soft, that they reassured me that he had forgiven me for all of my sin like actions.

He was right. Nothing about the past matters anymore. And that was my problem. I needed to forget the past and just focus on the present.

The present being; the world is about to end and no one but the Valar and I know.

After a moment in my thoughts, I brought myself back to the real world to find Legolas staring at me worriedly.

'You're right. Nothing in the past matters anymore, because we can't change it, so we shouldn't let it define ourselves,' I stated like a philosopher. The optimist buried inside me was finally breaking through.

'Ok...' He mumbled and awkwardly went back to what he was doing, but he looked at me like I had completely changed or I was drunk out of the universe. He was still pale with shock and I could see that he was starting to get sweaty hands.

'Look. I'll help you get home and see if your Father is ok, I'll help you with whatever comes after it, but I need you to help me figure something out.'

'I'll take the first two and leave the last one for now.' He simply mumbled.

'I'll go pack,' I replied, trying to avoid any more awkwardness or tension.

Legolas ignored me. I didn't take any offence in it, his mind was probably going around like a whirlwind. I went to go pack but on the way I was frightened half to death my a mild shriek.

'Eru! You scared the life out of me!' I exclaimed rudely at the elleth that shrieked.

'You're trailing blood all over Imladris! Get to the healing rooms, it looks like there has been a murder!' She exclaimed, waving her hands around.
