A/N: Warning: for any of you who have not yet watched Dunkirk, there are some mild spoiler alerts about the movie at the beginning of this chapter. You have been warned :p Also, this chapter is LOOONG!! But I enjoyed writing it sooo much 😄😄 I hope you enjoy reading it 💕

"Why did you keep sniggering at the part where I was eating bread?" Harry asked me with a smile as we began to exit the cinema, "You were making me self-conscious, Leah," he joked.

"Because you kept stuffing your face!" I laughed, "Here was all the other soldiers just taking one piece of bread and a cup of tea each, and then you come along, take two pieces of bread and start biting off huge chunks of them until your cheeks filled up like a chipmunk's!"

"That's what I was supposed to do, Leah," Harry was beginning to laugh as well.

"I know, but that doesn't mean you were safe from looking hilarious," I giggled, "but look on the bright side, Harry – your chipmunk face still looked adorable – at least to me."

Harry rolled his eyes and smiled again. "You'd better hope that I don't catch you stuffing your face with food – 'cause if I do, you're gonna get it."

"I'm just being honest," I giggled again, "and if you want me to be even more honest, the chipmunk cheeks were pretty much the only thing about your character that actually made me smile," I put my hand on my hip and gave him a look, "the stuff you said to that poor Frenchman was totally unnecessary."

"Hey, hey – I didn't say that stuff," Harry defended himself, "Alex said that stuff."

"I was shocked by Alex," I shook my head in disbelief, "I mean, I know you said in your interviews that he was 'a bit' selfish, but you played that down so much. He wasn't 'a bit' selfish, Harry, he was really fucking selfish. And he was also arrogant on top of it."

"Well, you should've caught on to that during your favourite scene of me hilariously eating bread," Harry smirked at me, "I was eating more bread than the other soldiers – that's kind of supposed to give you an idea of what Alex's character is like. It was kind of like a foreshadow – if you're observant enough of the smaller details in that scene."

"Oh, sorry. I didn't catch on. I was too distracted by your chipmunk cheeks," I retorted cheekily.

"Yeah, yeah, OK," Harry rolled his eyes again before he shot me a curious look, "so...is this you saying that you totally hated my character, then?"

"Er, hang on – I didn't say that," I smirked at him, "now you're just putting words in my mouth."

"You literally called him selfish and arrogant just a minute ago," he reminded me matter-of-factly, "I believe you also said that you were shocked by him."

"Yeah, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I hated him," my smirk grew, "in fact, if you ask me...despite all that, Alex was actually pretty hot."

Harry looked startled by my words. "Wait...what?"

"Oh yeah," I giggled, "I don't know why, but I was even a little turned on by him."

"OK, what the fuck, Leah?"

I had to laugh this time. "I dunno – I guess that haughty bad boy vibe he kept giving off was actually really attractive. I've always found myself attracted to badass characters – and in Dunkirk, that was totally Alex. He was the complete opposite of my sweet little cupcake boyfriend."

"Excuse me?" Harry cocked an eyebrow at me, "Did you just call me a 'sweet little cupcake'?"

Sensing that he didn't quite like how I put it, I only broke out an innocent smile.
