Feelings has always been a confusing topic for Adrian, the most romantic feelings he's had for someone was the weather lady when he was six. Being introduced to this new feeling when he is fifteen is less than ideal.

Adrian has had feelings for Lazarus for a while yes, but being forced to confront them and decipher them is a whole different thing. Now Adrian has to figure out if the feelings he has are genuine or just made up by the fact that Lazarus is a Veela. Half Veela.

That night Adrian and Lazarus got into bed after a long day, Lazarus fell asleep right away while Adrian stayed up. Not intentionally, Adrian just can't seem to sleep with all these thoughts running through his head, especially with Lazarus so close.

Can't stand it anymore Adrian gets up and goes looking for some magical creatures textbook. Once found (and opened with difficulty) Adrian searches for information, you can't google this stuff. There near the end of the book is the page on Veelas. 

Most of the stuff in the book Adrian already knows, like the beauty and the turning into a bird but Veela hair can apparently be the core of wands and no known cases of a Veela marring or mating with a muggle. Interesting facts but not helping with the feelings issue.

All of sudden Lazarus groans reaches out to Adrian's side of the bed to feel around. his hand finding nothing retreats and he whimpers twice. That action made Adrian's heart flutter. Yes he knows that Lazarus is asleep and that was probably an involuntary action, but let a man dream. 

Adrian sighs scooting back into the bed. Lazarus turns to face him and lays his arm on the other side of Adrian's body, essentially cuddling he taller boy. Adrian has a mantra of 'just an involuntary action, just an involuntary action' going through his head as he attempts sleep but fails miserably. 

Adrian likes a lot of things about Lazarus, a lot of things that aren't just his outward appearance. He doesn't know what that means, if Veelas attract men by their outward appearance or personality, laugh, sense of humour, his need to care for others, his comforting yet exciting presence in a room, his beautiful way of talking to people, even a stranger.

Adrian, distracted by thoughts of Lazarus, doesn't realise he is drifting off until it happens.
