When Adrian wakes up again, not too much after he fell asleep, Lazarus is still clinging to him, somehow more tight than before. Without thinking Adrian jumps out of bed, ripping himself out of Lazarus' grasp and waking up the smaller boy in the processes.
Lazarus shoots right up in the bed whipping out his wand with with great speed and aiming right at the fully awake standing Adrian.
"What? You? ...What?" Lazarus lowers his wand, his eyes show a mix of tired and confusion. Which is definitely not cute, Adrian tells himself, it's just the veela part of his muddling up his male brain. Adrian knows it's wrong to dislike something about someone that they can't control but he can at least try.
"Yeah, um... uh, you fell asleep on me. Here's a shirt, I guess." Adrian chucks a shirt at Lazarus from his feet, not noticing that it was was one of his own. "I'll leave." Adrian shuffles out of the room giving a bare minimum excuse.
The look of utter confusion and, perhaps, the tiniest bit of hurt and guilt, will not leave Adrian's mind. The more deep emotions might've just been a trick of the light, it was rather dark in the room in the seven o'clock light.
"Up so early, that's weird for you, usually Lazarus is up first." Adrian's dad comments, holding a coffee in his hand blowing on it delicately. Adrian just shakes his head and heads to the fridge for Christmas leftovers, unable to explain, even to himself, why he did what he just did.
Cuddling actually doesn't bother him in the slightest, Lazarus and Adrian have cuddled since being babies sharing a cot. But then again, Adrian didn't have feelings for Lazarus when he was a baby. Maybe he did, he wouldn't know.
Adrian can't pin point when his feeling first started emerging. But they're not feelings, they are veela feelings. Lust? Sensual desire?
He won't feel anything for Lazarus, he just can't. Adrian can't explain why he feels the need to be extremely far away from Lazarus right now but he does. Lazarus makes Adrian do stupid things, like love eyes and jealousy. But that's only because he is a veela obviously.
"Hey dad?" Adrian looks up from his plate of Christmas ham, potato salad and a cheeky slice of apple pie.
"Yes?" Adrian's dad's head turns from the daily prophet to his son. The head line is something about one of the beaters for the holly head harpies having all the bones in her body disappear after an accident at St. Mungo's hospital. There is never a dull moment in the wizarding world.
"How intense is an attraction to a Veela? Can it be romantic?" Adrian looks back down at his food, embarrassed he is asking this question to his dad, but there really isn't another option is there. There is no point asking his mum, being a girl she wouldn't know and asking Lazarus' dad would just be cruel.
"Well as the generations go on it gets less. Once I knew a full Veela and I never really felt that much attraction to her after a while, when I first met her though it was crazy. I'm not too sure what kind of attraction I had to her, definitely sexual though. Why do you ask son?"
"I was reading on them in Lazarus' book, but it doesn't have as much information as I would like." Adrian lies smoothly. Lying being a skill of Adrians, but only when it comes to parents. Adrian's dad nods and continues reading.
"You should ask Lazarus, I'm sure he knows a lot more than me about this subject." Adrian's dad says, taking a sip of his coffee and continues to read.
Adrian finishes his breakfast of sorts and heads outside to where Daria is already flying on a new broomstick that she got from their parents. The broomstick isn't the newest model, or the best, but it does it's job and Daria seems happy with it.
Lucky there aren't any muggles out, although they wouldn't be able to see Daria considering Lazarus lives out in the country, not too far away. The neighbours are also wizards, Adrian has been told that they are the bad kind. They would hate Adrian just for being a squib, which is completely unfair in everyone else's eyes.
Daria starts to do all of these self taught tricks, like spins and dives and such. She has told Adrian before about her dreams of being part of the Holly Head Harpies. Her idol is Ginny Potter, who is quite famous from the war a couple years back and now being amazing at quidditch.
Daria is going to try out for the Ravenclaw team again next year for her second year, Lazarus thinks she can make it. Lazarus. Probably went back to sleep, thank goodness, Adrian can't deal with him today.
"Nerd, where's your boyfriend?" While Adrian was zoned out Daria came and sat by Adrian, shoving his shoulder a little with her own.
"One, He's not my boyfriend. Two, don't know. Three, you're the nerd, you're the Ravenclaw here." Adrian says shoving Daria back.
"What do you even know about Ravenclaw?"
"That you're all a bunch of nerds!" Adrian gets up ans starts to run away from his sister who got on her broom and caught up very quickly.
"Who even told you that we're nerds, also very not true."
"Lazarus."
"What does a Hufflepuff know about Ravenclaw?"
"That you're nerds!"
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"
This argument continues for quite some time, until they go back into the house. Now everyone is in the kitchen, including Lazarus.
Adrian turns around and heads straight to Lazarus' room. Not even Adrian can really explain why he just left when he saw Lazarus. Running away from his problems maybe, but that's stupid, Adrian has been taught to face his troubles head on. So maybe this is not a problem, maybe this is how it's meant to be.

What up. I know Adrian is an idiot but what can you do? Well I could fix it but that wouldn't make for a very good story.
Thanks sooo much for over 100 reads, that's pretty cool. I now know where this story is going and all that so it's going to get better I hope.
