Letting out a sigh the paladins all lounged about on the training deck, they had all just completed a rigours training exercise, and now they were all worn out.
"What time do you think it is on Earth? Like, November?" Lance panted as he sat up before deciding to lay back down onto the cool metal floor,
"It's probably around December, could even be Christmas" Pidge mumbled, a hint of sadness in her voice, they all let out a sigh and looked at the doors that just opened, Allura and Coran walked in, the two Alteans looked rather pleased with the Paladins,
"Why are you all so gloomy? Aren't you happy that you managed to protect each other that long?" Allura asked as Coran glanced at them,
"They could be hungry, I could whip up an Altean delicacy" He offered but they all shook their heads,
"No, we aren't hungry, its just around this time we'd all be with our families, celebrating Christmas, or New year or something like that" Hunk said as he sat up and stretched his arms out,
"Christ....Mas? That sounds like a peculiar name, what are these celebrations?" The princess asked as she sat down and looked at them like a young child would when learning something new, big eyes, ready to listen to whatever you ended up telling them, the paladins looked at each other,
"It's basically celebrating this guys birthday, Jesus Christ, and yada yada but now it's-" Pidge started but was cut off by Hunk
"It's setting up a tree and getting presents and spending town with family, but not everyone celebrates it" Hunk finished, it really was simple, Allura nodded, that sounded similar to a few Altean celebrations,
"And you guys, are missing this time with your family right now?" She asked and they all gave a reluctant nod, wondering what she would do with these few bits of information she managed to get out of them,
"Alright well you all might as well go to get some rest" she said and stood up, she smiled at them and left the room, instantly going to search for Coran, bumping into him in the kitchen, he was peeking into what was similar to an oven,
"I think it's broken, need to get Hunk to fix it" he mumbled and turned to Allura,
"Yes princess?" He asked,
"Find everything you can on an earth tradition called 'Christmas'" she said and turned around, leaving once again to see if the castle had anything useful that she could use, maybe something from a long time ago?
-,
"Hmmmm a Christmas tree? Decoration? How do they do this every year, it must be tedious work" Coran mumbled as he flipped through a virtual book, one of the few they had on human cultures.
"Well we might as well try, besides, they must get used to it, or maybe they create a new plan of action every year so it wouldn't be as tedious as usual" Allura rambled, her head in a book all about...
Christmas stories, and many of them she didn't understand,
A 'reindeer' with a red nose that glows?
A man that somehow brings presents to all children around the world?
A SNOWMAN WHO TALKS!?
Oh boy was she confused,
"I think I found something, there's a planet two star systems over that has 'Christmas trees' well... close enough... a few problems may arise" Coran mumbled and Allura sighed
"What are they?" She mumbled
"Well first these trees are valuable to the people of this planet, these trees are heat sensitive, the little needles explode if they get to hot, the needles feel like rubber and they are... huge..." Coran stopped
"Is that all?" Allura asked
"Well there are probably a ton more problems but I think you've had enough" Coran chuckled,
"Well lets go and get this tree thing" Allura said, standing up and walking out the door.
-
"Alright paladins, we're going to a new planet, and we crucially need to form an alliance with these people" Allura was giving the usual pep talk and she could see they were skeptical,
" Allura this planet doesn't have any visible benefits" Pidge mumbled.
The paladins went anyway, for two Vargas they attempted to convince the people to form an alliance, giving them every reason to form an alliance but the people were skeptical, meanwhile Allura and Coran had snuck off to try and find something similar to a Christmas tree.
So it went like that for the day, it seemed like they went over the entire galaxy and to the paladins? Well they were tired and didn't know why they were going to all these places, and now why they were restricted to their rooms.
"Coran put the gifts under the tree" Allura said as she put on the star, a few more ornaments and stepped back, Coran placed the boxes under the tree and also stepped back,
"Paladins, meet in the front room" Allura said over the intercom, after a few minutes the Paladins came in, drained from the day, but as they saw the tree and a faint glow of different colours, they all seemed to be surprised, excited, maybe a hint of confusion.
"Allura... what's this?" Shiro managed to get out, a smile on his face
"Well you guys seemed sad about Christmas... so Coran and I collected somethings and well, tada!" Allura said and they both did jazz hands towards the tree.
And so they went on to open presents, spend time telling tales and having a large festive dinner.A/N:Merry late Christmas and Happy holidays!
I'm sooooooo sorry this took so long to post, but here it is, ill try getting the next chapter of the main plot out soon.
I know not everyone celebrates Christmas (I myself don't) I chose it because it was the shortest and as everyone knows these exclusive chapters are short holidays, anyways, sorry again that this chapter is late but I hope you guys still have a happy holidays!✌🏼✨
