"Well uh...." Lance stuttered
"I was just about to.... Clean! And besides, my Lion hates the paladins down to the bone, why would she open up to one of them?" Lance scoffed the last part and rolled his eyes,
"Well fine, though I still want to check the lion after you clean, I have a feeling that gremlin of a green paladin hacked into the system and he cant be in our system" Lotor muttered
"Actually its a she... The green paladin's a she" Lance corrected. He walked to the side and grabbed what he guessed were cleaning supplies. He walked to the lion and walked inside, letting a sigh leave his mouth. He got a towel and started to wipe down the shelves, waiting a few minutes before standing up,
"Pidge you can come out" he said softly, and waited before he heard some clunking, a thud and then that was followed by a groan.
Lance smiled softly as he saw Pidge,
"Dont think that because you helped me hide that I suddenly think that you're okay" she grumbled and Lance nodded slowly,
"Okay... But... I can get the Lions out of the force fields but you'll have to unlock the cells" he said as he continued to wipe down the shelves and compartments.
"But why? I mean as much as I would love to get the hell off this battleship, why would you, of all people, help us?" she asked as she walked to the pilot part,
Lance let out a small sigh as he followed her, kneeling down and getting rid of dust in the corners,
"Because you guys dont deserve to stay locked up, even after all the crap you did to me" he muttered the last part before continuing "you guys should be out and saving the universe" he said as he finished, "ill get the lions out tonight, be ready with the paladins" he said before glancing out "now hide before Lotor gets here" Lance hissed before watching as she scrambled away to find a place to hide in that Lotor wouldn't look in.
A couple minutes passed and Lance started to walk towards the exit. He got out and went to look for Lotor, it would be better if Lance was also in the lion, that way he could warn Pidge in some manner if they're getting close.
"Prince Lotor!" Lance called as Lotor stepped out of the black lion, hands behind his back, a smile cracked on his lips.
"Have you finished?" he asked as he walked over and Lance nodded,
"It should he quick since I already checked most of the compartments" Lance said as he trailed behind Lotor.
The white Lion didn't open easily when Lotor stepped up and it took some mental coaxing from Lance to get her to open up.
Walking in Lance just prayed that Pidge was well hidden somewhere that wasnt to obvious.
'Crap if Pidge is found in here.... Damnit Im going to have to get her and myself out of trouble before we're both killed' he thought as he twiddled his thumbs, Lance had zoned out and yelped as he was shaken by Lotor,
"Prince Lance are you alright?" he asked and Lance gave a small nod,
"Well in that case, we haven't found a trace of the green paladin" he mumbled, obviously angry about not being able to find Pidge, Lance let out a sigh, that was good.
"Well I am getting hungry, why dont we go and have something to eat? Maybe make a plan of how to catch the green paladin?"  Lance said as he gently tugged on Lotor's arm, "and besides, I'm sure she'll make a mistake, and then we'll get her, it'll be simple" he said and pulled the taller galra male out of the white lion, he lead him towards the doors and opened them, "maybe we can even do a mini spa in my room, I can set everythin up" Lance exclaimed, completely forgetting about the world and just imagining that he could have a somewhat normal day.
For the entire day Lance had kept Lotor off the topic of Pidge and finding her, and it had gone rather well and Lance had fallen asleep as if ue was at home on earth, in his home by the ocean, with his siblings next door.
Lance shot up as soon as he heard the alarms, "damnit" he growled as he ripped off his Pj's and quickly pulled on his white paladin armor and grabbed his bayard, he walked outside and glanced around before walking over to a guard.
"What's happening?" he asked as he held his bayard,
"We're landing, the paladins have escaped and the lions are gone, we assume that they're on the planet" the guard said simply.
Lance grumbled and turned around, running down the hall and running all the way to the hangar, he got into his lion in a blind panic, his heart pounding. He flew out just as the ship landed, his worst nightmare come true, a huge galra army and then the five paladins in their lions, shooting away at the army but barely making a dent, the galra seemed endless. He watched as they landed and began fighting hand to hand, he landed his lion a somewhat good distance away and ran towards the battle, slashing down enemy galra without hesitation. Lance's heart nearly stopped, his eyes widened and time seemed to slow down, and before he realized it he was sprinting towards the red paladin and shoving him out of the way just as he heard Haggar's sickening cackle and then a sudden searing pain flowed through Lance as he fell to the floor, a metalic taste swirled in his mouth before he spit it out and saw a blood red on the floor, he glanced up hazely and Haggar was gone, and the shouting seemed to stop as Lance fell to the floor, everything was hazy and his head hurt like hell.
He heard the clashing of a sword against metal and then felt himself beimg picked up,
"W-who?" he sputtered and blood filled his mouth again,
'Keith? Why is he cradling me? Is he trying to embarrass me again?' Lance thought and before he knew it everything went black, his head throbbed and he started to feel cold.
'Why can't I get a blanket?' he thought as he tried to move but a hot searing pain shot through him which made him cry out in pain, tears prickled his closed eyes as he was being taken somewhere.
'What about my lion?' he thought as he tried to move himself but his arm just hit some metal.
Lance suddenly felt a smile creep onto his lips, he would die peacefully, without having to worry about anything anymore.
"T-..tell my... F-...amily I lo-" he paused as he coughed up blood, he curled into a ball, holding his stomach, "I love... Them" he whispered the last part, everything slipped away, his final thought?

'I can finally die a hero'.
