"Dalton hurry up! You're going to make us late for our reservation!" I called upstairs. Today was our 4 year anniversary, almost a year after Dalton nearly died. I was waiting down stairs wearing a white dress shirt, black blazer and khaki dress pants. I even styled my hair instead of just throwing on a beanie. This took me maybe 10-20 minutes, Dalton on the other hand has been in the bathroom for 45 minutes at least. "I'm coming!" Dalton finally responded. I hadn't seen him all day, he was out doing shit while I was setting up our plans for tonight. As Dalton came down the steps, I could tell it was well worth the wait.

Apparently when Dalton was out, he went shopping and got a hair cut. His once longer hair was now cut close on the sides and back and longer up top. His new suit jacket looked amazing on him. It was a fitted, navy blue casual jacket that hugged him in all the right spots. He paired it with white skinny jeans and a dark purple button down. He looked amazing. "Wow......" I said simply, unsure if I could rely on my words. After staring for a few minutes, I handed him the flowers I got for him. "Oh here, these are for you." I said. He blushed as he took them before finding a vase to put them in. Damn, it's going to be hard to try and keep my hands to myself tonight.

We got into the car and I began driving to the restaurant. "Where are we going?" Dalton asked. I shook my head. "Not telling you." "Please?" "No." I felt his hand on my knee and it began trailing up my leg, stopping when it reached my upper inner thigh and began rubbing circles. "Please?" I bit my lip to hold back a moan. "Dalton, unless you want me to pull over and take you right here on the side of the road, and never make our date, I suggest you stop right now." Dalton grumbled something before sitting back in his seat, his muscular arms crossed. "I wouldn't mind the second option." He said under his breath.

I chuckled at how immature he was acting. "We can do this later, after our date is over. The date is very important." For the rest of the ride Dalton harassed me with questions, as well as when we got into the restaurant and were seated. "Dalton. Stop asking me a million questions. I'm not going to answer them, you just have to wait and see." That seemed to silence Dalton and we were able to eat an amazing dinner at his favorite restaurant. I fingered my jacket pocket to make sure the little box was in there before ordering a special dessert I had set up ahead of time. "Why can't I order my own dessert?" Dalton whined and I just smiled and shook my head.

I smiled as they carried out the small cake. It was a chocolate mousse cake, Dalton's favorite. "To the love of my life Dalton...." He read off the cake. "What....?" He looked up to see that I was no longer sitting across from him, but was now on one knee in front of him. I took his hand in mine and took a deep breath.

"Baby, I didn't always love you. Sure I thought you were cool and I liked that we were friends but I didn't always love you. The love didn't develop until just before we signed onto UMG. I was extremely jealous of Madison, wishing that it was me instead of her. And once we got together, I was at the happiest I'd ever been. But when that asshole sent me back to Texas, I was depressed. Severely depressed. For the first month or two I was in and out of rehab facilities because I just had chronic depression. I was starting to get better, that is until we bumped into each other that day at City Walk. I didn't want to let you back into my life, but somehow you found a way to worm yourself back in."

Dalton leant down to wipe my cheek and I hadn't even realized that I was crying. "But I'm glad you did. I don't think I would be able to live without you. When I almost lost you just about a year ago, it really became clear to me that you were my one and only, my soulmate. I want to be able to love you until the last one of those flowers I gave you today dies. And guess what? Ones fake." I said with a chuckle. "So I guess what I'm trying to say is Dalton, will you marry me and be my five-ever?" I said smiling, opening the ring box.

I had gone to Dalton's favorite jewelry store and they showed me the ring Dalton wanted, the one he wouldn't stop talking to them about. I hadn't known he wanted to get married until I walked into that store. It was a beautiful ring though. 14k white gold ring with tiny diamonds inset in the band all around. "Oh my god. This is my ring. This is the one I wanted, how'd you know? Oh my god. I love you, you're amazing." Dalton said as I slipped the ring on his finger. "So is that a yes?" I asked. He nodded, wrapping his arms around my neck. "Fuck yes!" He said as we both stood up and I pressed my lips to his.
