Chapter 6: Goodbye Family, Hello Cruise Ship

"Babe!!! Come on hurry up! We have to head to the airport in the next half hour!" Cole called upstairs to me as he made breakfast. "I told you to pack last night." He said. I sighed. "I know, I know. I got caught up playing Mouse Trap with the kids." I called back as I threw the last bit of clothes into my suitcases. I then brought them downstairs so that we could finish loading all the bags into the car. I sat down at the table as Cole finished setting everything down. "And you know, we still have to drop the kids off at Becca's before we go to the airport." I groaned as I began to eat the omelette that Cole made for me. I ate quickly so that we could load all the bags into the car and get the kids in as well. Cole managed the kids while I put all our bags into the car. "Who knew honeymoons were so stressful?" I asked. "I told you not to wait until the last minute Dalton!" Cole said, raising his voice a bit. I just glared at him and closed the trunk before getting into the driver's seat. Cole got in and then once everyone was buckled in, I started the car and headed off to Becca's house. Luckily it wasn't a long drive to Becca's house and it was along the route to the airport. Once I parked in the driveway, Cole got out of the car to get the kids and their bags. He brought them to the front door and rang the door bell. Becca's husband, Rob, came out and got the bags. "Becca's at the store right now. I'll let her know you guys said hi." He says as he takes the bags from Cole and lets the kids into the house. I nodded. "We'll call you guys when we land in New York." I said as Cole made his way to the car. He got back in and then I headed off to the airport.

Once I parked in long term parking, Cole and I got a cart and brought our bags into the airport. We checked them in, keeping our backpacks with us before heading in line for security. As I was standing in line, ID and boarding pass in hand, I felt Cole's arms go around my waist and I leaned back against him. "I love you Cole." I said softly with a smile. He softly kissed my neck, then rested his chin on my shoulder. "I love you too hubby." He said with a small chuckle. I smiled and kissed his jaw before going to the security man's desk and showing him my ID and boarding pass, Cole did the same. He cheked them to make sure they were legit before giving them back to us and letting us go to one of the lines for the scanners. As I waited on line, I took off my sneakers and belt and took my iPad out of my backpack and put them all in a bin and then put the backpack in a separate one. I put them at the edge of the conveyer belt and waited for my turn. I put my two bins into the machine and went through the full body scanner, holding my wallet and boarding pass in my hands. Once done, I grabbed my bins from the scanning machine and took my iPad out, putting it back in my bag. I then put it on my back and pulled my shoes on along with my belt. I stuck my boarding pass in my back pocket before heading off towards our gate with Cole. "Babe, want to get something to eat on the plane?" I asked him.

It was a six hour flight so we were definitely going to get hungry, even though we ate like an hour ago. Cole shrugged. "If there's somethng good around here then yeah, but we could always get something on the plane. First class does have in-flight food service you know." I blushed and chuckled. "I forgot. I almost never travel unless it's with the band on tour." Cole smiles as he takes my hand and leads me to sit down by the gate. "I know baby, you're sheltered." He said half jokingly. We took a seat outside the gate and waited for our flight to begin boarding. I felt my phone vibrate and I took it out to see that Becca was calling me. I groaned and rolled my eyes before answering my phone. " Hello?" I asked. "Hey Dalton. Sorry to bother you guys, I know it's your honeymoon but Natalia refuses to eat what I made her, she told me about her special stories, and I have no idea what she's talking about, what are they not allowed to watch on TV and what are their bedtimes?" She asked in a rush. I sighed. "If Natalia won't eat what you make her just make her macaroni and cheese. She especially likes the Kraft kind in the shape of the Spongebob characters. Her special stories are just basically fairytales with a more feminist approach, or same sex couples. The only kids cartoons they're not allowed to watch are Gravity Falls, Sanjay and Craig, and Rabbids Invasions. They can watch everything on Disney Channel so I'd say stick with that and you'll be fine. And for bed time, Natalia is 8:30, 9 if she's really good, same for Vincent." I said. "Alright. I'll leave you guys alone now. Bye!" She said before hanging up. Cole looked at me as I put my phone away. "Good. It's time for us to board now."

We got up and went over to the counter so that they could scan our boarding passes before we boarded the plane. It was nice, the first class cabin. There were only two seats on either side of the aisle as opposed to the normal three, and the seats were more spread out because they could recline to a full 180 degree resting position if you wanted them to. I took my seat at the window, pulling Cole down into the seat next to me. He chuckled and sat down, taking out his wallet, headphones, and a pack of gum before putting his backpack underneath the seat. "Here." Cole said, handing me a piece of gum as he popped one into his mouth. I took it and put it in my mouth. I took out my headphones and iPad as I turned off my phone and put it in my bag before putting that away. Once they finished with the safety speech, the plane took off. About two hours into the flight, after some light snacking, Cole and I got lunch through in-flight food service. About four, four and a half hours later we had landed in New York. We would've left for our cruise out of San Diego directly but none of those cruises were going to Costa Rica so we had to go to through New York. We were going to spend the night in the city and board the ship tomorrow.

Cole and I got off the plane, reclaimed our luggage and then got a taxi to bring us to the hotel. Once we got to our room, I plopped my bags down and got into bed almost immediately, the time difference and jet lag affecting me severely. The next day, after a nice breakfast in bed, we dressed and checked out of our room. Then we headed over to the docks to board the ship. I couldn't wait for us to leave. Two weeks off the grid, no paparazzi, no crazy fans, no kids. Just me and my husband on the seas and visiting tropical lands. I'm going to really enjoy this honeymoon.

A/N: Sorry for this really crappy, short chapter that took so long for me to upload. I've literally had family over almost every single day since the start of August and I haven't really had any time to myself to write. But I really want to make it up to you guys.

So I was thinking, I'm really bad at this and I've never done this before, but would any of guys like a dirty Colton/sex scene chapter? Obviously it can't be too dirty because the story's rated PG-13 but I could try. Let me know down in the comments below. If enough of you guys want it, then I'll add it in to the next chapter. (Plus I have a really good idea for the next chapter *muahahaha*).
