Amanda's P.O.V
Something makes a crackling sound under my tennis shoe. I look down and see that I'm stepping on a manilla envelope. It crackles as I lift my foot up off of it.
It has my name on it. I look out in the hallway to see if anyone is there. No one.
Shutting the door I pull out my phone and dial Liv's number. "Yes Amanda?" she asks. "We have a problem." I tell her. "What?" she asks. "Someone left a manilla envelope inside our door. Please come home, I don't want to open it without you here." I beg. "Okay. Okay. I'm on my way." she says. "Thanks Liv." I whisper. "Yeah, yeah." she says. She goes to hang up. "Liv, wait." I say.
"What, Amanda?" she asks. "I love you." I whisper. "I love you too." she whispers.
I hang the phone up and lock the door. Sitting on the couch I hold my gun in my hand.
I sit in silence and despair, I really don't want to open the envelope. I really don't want to see what's in it. My eyes lock in it, and I stare endlessly at it until the lock clicks on the door. My eyes snap to the door and it opens up, to reveal Liv. She walks in and shuts the door behind her, locking it again.
I stand up and my legs automatically jog over to her. I wrap my eyes around her waist with a sigh of relief. She hugs me and pulls away. "Where's the envelope?" she asks. I jerk my head towards the coffee table.
Liv looks at me and starts walking towards it. Without me telling her she pulls on a pair of white latex gloves. I stand beside her and watch as she opens the envelope quickly.
Inside are picture of us. Pictures of us at work, in bed, sleeping in each other's arms. Liv gasps at all the pictures in the envelope. I pull on some gloves and take it from her. Opening it more I spot a little white slip of paper. Reaching in I pull it out and set the envelope down. Opening the folded slip of paper, I read it and gasp.
Liv takes it from me and reads it. A small gasp leaves her mouth and I hug her.
"What are we going to do?" I gasp. She shakes her head, her face is paler than usual. My body starts shaking and my breaths are coming short.
Liv's training kicks in and she wraps her arms around my shoulders and chest. I feel her forehead nestle into the back of my neck.
Slowly my breathing returns to normal and the tremors stop. Liv sighs with relief and grabs my hand. "Let's go tell the squad." she says. I nod.
Together we put everything back into the envelope. As I take my gloves off and throw them away, Liv does the same. We walk out our door and lock it behind us.
She looks at me as I drive us to the precinct. "Stop looking at me Liv." I beg. "I want to memorize your face incase something happens and I never see you again." she sobs.
Liv doesn't cry often, but right now is an exception. I take her hand in mine, and kiss it, blinking back tears. "We'll be okay. We'll figure something out." I tell her.
"Will we Amanda?" she asks. I nod as I pull the car into the precinct.
"We will." I tell her. She nods.
