Amanda's P.O.V

My phone rings. I look at it. "The hospital?" I ask no one. I answer it. "Hello?" I ask.

"Is this Amanda Rollins?" a woman's voice asks.

"This is she." I reply, my eyebrows furrowing.

"I'm Dr. Flanagan I work at Mercy West Hospital. Do you know an 'Olivia Benson'?" the woman asks.

"Yes, I do. Olivia Benson is my girlfriend." I tell her.

"I'm afraid you need to come quick, she's been in a car accident." Dr. Flanagan says.

"I'll be right there." I tell her hanging up. I run to the squad room and everyone looks at me. A tear falls from my eye and I wipe it away.

"Liv's in the hospital. She got into a car accident." I tell them. Nick walks up to me, his arms outstretched. He wants to give me a hug.

I step away from him. "Don't touch me." I tell him. He gives me a look. "I need to get to the hospital. I have to make sure that she's going to be alright." I tell them.

Nick nods. I grab my car keys and quickly rush to my car. I drive to the hospital, lights flashing, and siren blaring. I don't care if I'm betraying my own morals by using my badge to do something, I have to get to the hospital.

I park my car in an empty stall. Shutting it off I dump my keys in my pocket and run inside the hospital.

I look at the reception desk and see Carla. She looks at me and runs over. "Amanda? What are you doing here?" she asks. Her eyebrows are pulled together and she's looking at me with concern.

"Where's Liv? What room is she in?" I ask. Carla looks down at her tablet. I watch as she swipes and taps at a few things.

"She's in surgery." Carla whispers.

"I can't lose her. We finally just made it official." I tell her. Carla smiles at me.

"Congratulations." she says.

"Thanks. I need to know what happened though." I reply.

Carla looks at me. I watch as her face shows an image of sorrow. She looks away. "I don't know what happened." she tells me. A woman walks up to Carla.

"Is Ms. Rollins here yet? Ms. Benson is out of surgery." she says. Carla looks at me.

"I'm Amanda Rollins." I tell the woman. She smiles sadly.

"I'm Dr. Flanagan. We spoke on the phone. Olivia is out of surgery, and she should be waking up right up now if you want to see her. She should be up when we get upstairs." Dr. Flanagan tells me. I give Carla a look and follow the doctor.

She leads me to the elevator and we get in as soon as the doors open. "Can you tell me what happened?" I ask her.

The doctor looks at me. "As far as I know? She was driving somewhere and on 32nd and Pine street she was hit from the side. The car was overturned and she was unconscious when the EMTs arrived on scene." Dr. Flanagan tells me.

"You're a general surgeon. You work on the abdominal organs. What was bleeding inside her?" I ask.

"Not only am I a general surgeon, I am a cardiothoracic, orthopedic, and neurological surgeon. Olivia's spleen ruptured, and she had a minor brain bleed. During surgery she went into heart failure but we got it under control, so she will live. She broke her left wrist, so it needed pins. There is one bit of bad news." Dr. Flanagan tells me.

I look at her. "What bad news?" I ask.

"Olivia may or may not wake up. She might go into a coma, we don't know. If she does wake up, we have no idea if she'll remember anything." Dr. Flanagan tells me, grimacing.
