The Fire Within (#Wattys2014)

Chapter 11-Lucy's POV- Black Steel Gajeel

When I opened my eyes, I was no longer in that damp, dark cell in the tower. I was now in a brightly lit room made of polished iron bars. I lifted my head and noticed that I was hanging on the wall by my hands, which were in big iron clasps. Before I could move to try and break free, three darts whizzed past my head. One hit my right arm by my wrist which stung a little but I had been through worse. Blood began to trickle down my arm but I was not concerned about the pain. I was starring eye to eye with my attacker. He was a tall man with long, spikey black hair and piercing red eyes. His face and arms were covered with iron studs which did not seem to bother him at all. This man wore a shabby, black, sleeveless tunic with studded edges, a studded belt around his waist, loose, beige pants tucked inside studded black boots, and a pair of studded brown gloves paired. This was Black Steel Gajeel.

 “Gehehe so the little princess is awake eh?” He cackled as he threw two more darts at me which both nicked me in my sides. The pain was excruciating, but I refused to even whimper.

“Its only going to get worse for you unless I hear a scream.” He said glaring at me as if to look into my soul. He wanted me to break, but I would not. I have dealt with much worse from my father. I knew that I had to hold out a little bit longer since Fairy Tail would come and save me.

I lifted my head and in a cracked voice, I said, “Never”.

 “Fine, but like I said, things are about to get worse for you sweetheart. I warned you!” He growled almost as if he was a dragon.

Gajeel unchained me from the wall. I began to try and kick him to no avail as I hit the ground as if I was a sack of potatoes. Suddenly, out of the blue, an iron pole came at me, hit me in the stomach and sent me flying into a wall. My back was on fire as I looked up from where I feel and noticed that the pole changed back into Gajeel’s arm. It was then that I realized that Gajeel could use iron as a weapon. Black Steel Gajeel was none other than the Iron Dragonslayer who I heard so much about when I was little. I was trapped inside an iron cage with a monster with no way out.
