Chapter 14-Natsu's POV- Chess and a Blast from the Past

Erza, Happy and I left Popsicle brain with that crazy water chick. We began to run through the halls, checking every room when we came to a set of doors made out of a white wood with a red design etched on it. Erza insisted that we try it and I agreed. When we entered the room, we saw a giant chess board on the ground. It was the floor and on either side were large chess pieces. One set looked like members of Fairy Tail made out of white marble and the others were black made to look like members of Phantom Lord.

In place of the Phantom Lord’s king was a black chair with a hooded figure sitting. He stood up when he noticed that we had just entered the room. He uncovered his head and stepped into the light. Standing in the middle of the board was a man around my height with blue hair, the same blue as Erza’s mark and a weird red tattoo around his eye.

Erza gasped. “Jellal! How? I thought you died during the Tower of Heaven incident over two years ago!”

So this was that Jellal creep who made Erza cry for months. This was the guy she said she loved.

“That was only a mere illusion as well as my feelings I once had for you!” jeered Jellal

I did not know this guy but he made Erza cry and I was going to make him pay.

“Natsu leave him to me. Find Lucy and get her out of here safely.” Erza began as she thrust her hand out in front of me.

“But I want to beat this guy up for making you cry for months.” I moaned. I couldn’t help but protect Erza’s feelings, she was like a big sister to me.

“I appreciate that you care Natsu but I am fine. Lucy needs your help more than me. She has no one by her side right now but Fairy Tail is always with me when I fight.” Erza stated boldly. I couldn’t argue with her. Fairy Tail will always be with me when I fight as well so I left her to face Jellal.

As Happy and I continued down the hall, we reached a dark dead end. There were chains and cobwebs everywhere. Suddenly I got a whiff of something sweet. It smelled like vanilla and cherry blossoms. It was Lucy’s scent. It was warm and comforted me until I smelled a harsh metallic scent of blood that was close to her. I was getting mad. Lucy was hurt and I didn’t know where she was. It was then that I heard a blood curdling scream that I wished I never heard. It was Lucy. I needed to find her now.
