Hey guys this is historylover18! I hope you are enjoying "The Fire Within" so far. This is a very special chapter for me to write. I wanted to do something special for all the Jerza fans out there.  The image is the new requip for Erza which I designed with help from a great friend Hikarichan1025. If you had not added her, please do. Her stories are fantastic. That is why I dedicate this chapter to her.  I would love some feedback and please enjoy!

Jellal was beating every armor that I threw his way. I couldn’t handle any more of these bulky armors so I decided to requip into a simple one. All it consisted of was a white wrap top with red and yellow flame pants. My hair was in a simple ponytail and I only held in my hand a single sword. To some, it may have seemed as if I was vulnerable to any attack but they were wrong. It showed the strength of my heart.  This was the last requip I used against Jellal when we last faced off in that tower. This was the first time in two years that I have worn it. It brought back memories of my past but I will not let them weigh me down. I must be strong.

I charged, jumped into the air and brought my sword down close to his head. At the last moment, he dodged before the sword could hit him. I did not see him as he hid in the shadows conserving his energy. The room was large so it was hard to find him. I was looking around while keeping my guard up for about five minutes until I heard a voice from the dark.

“You are at a disadvantage Erza. I am in complete control over this room. I can change it at will. You will never win! This room is as dark as my soul and nothing can change that.” Jellal stated proudly but I could not figure out where his voice was coming from. It was as if his voice was everywhere.

“ I will find you and free you from this Jellal! I will win because there is still good inside of you! I will win for my family and for the feelings I still have for you!” I yelled at the top of my lungs.

\It was quite for a few moments. Suddenly there was a giant orb of black light growing in one of the corners. Jellal was there holding the growing orb in his hands.

“I don’t care what you say, I will NEVER let you win! I am dark, you are light and the darkness devours the light. Its over for you Erza! Altairis!” Jellal screamed as he hurled the dark orb at me. I knew that I would not survive the attack. It was the one that killed Simon in the tower. I closed my eyes, stood my ground and waited for the darkness to take me,

I waited for a few minutes before I opened my eyes. The next thing I remember was hovering over the room. I must be dead, I thought but then I looked over my shoulder and saw a familiar blue cat with wings.

“Happy! What are you doing here?” I started.

“Ughh right now saving your butt! You are heavier than Lucy!” Happy grunted.

“What about Lucy? I told you and Natsu to find her and protect her.” I responded as we landed on the ground.

“Aye Sir we did. Wendy and Levy are there protecting her now while Natsu fights Gajeel.” That idiot Natsu, I will give him a piece of my mind when I see him, I thought.

“Lucy sent me to give you something to help you win.” Happy said as he flew to a patch of rubble where he pulled out a curved sword.

I had never seen a sword like it before. It had a curved blade which glistened in the light like it was made out of gold. The hilt was gold with a turquoise ribbon pattern intertwined within it. As the bottom of the handle was a large diamond pendant. It was a sword worthy of royalty. I did not understand why Lucy would give me such a sword and how it  would help.

“Lucy said that it is called the star sword. It can destroy any dark magic or spell. She also said that you would know what to do with it.” Happy continued.

This sword could save Jellal. I was nervous to even touch it but then I decided to take it from Happy. When my hand touched the hilt, it sent a magical charge throughout my body and it felt as if I was completely restored of my magic.

“Thank you Happy!” I said. And thank you Lucy, I whispered in my head.

I held the sword in my hand and yelled “requip”. Gold and turquoise light began to circle me. After a few minutes, I looked down and saw the most amazing requip I had ever seen in my life. It consisted of a white top and skirt that only reached my knees with a turquoise robe on over it. At the end of the robe were fang-like attachments, also turquoise blue. In the middle was a blue sash with a gold accent acting as my belt. On the arm which had my precious blue guild mark was a turquoise blue sleeve with a purple sash on top and purple spots at the cuff. My other arm did not have a sleeve but a gold wristband. I had white stockings on my feet and turquoise blue heels. Around my neck was a golden choker. On my head was a golden headdress with opal stones intertwined within it. My hair was flowing in the wind except for a small bun on the top of my head. In my hand was that same sword which Happy had given me. I had never seen anything more beautiful in all of my life and it was a new requip for me from a friend. I was extremely grateful.

“Young maiden who wields the star sword.” Boomed a voice inside of my head.

“Who is this?” I responded in thought.

“I am Lucy’s grandfather, the Celestial Spirit King. I see you are the one who is worthy enough to have unlocked the true power of the star sword. However, there is more to it than meets the eye. If you so choose, you may unlock the final form of the star sword, known as the Caelestra Staff. This transformation can only happen once so choose the time you use it correctly. May the stars guide you.” The king replied.

I was amazed that he would even speak to me. He gave me something that was an incredible blessing, hope. I could stop anything or anyone who came my way and I knew that my friends would always be by my side.

“Oh so you have a requip that I have never seen before. Well it still won’t help you. No blade will ever touch me!” Jellal stated as he moved his hands into a position that I had dreaded.

It was the formation for “Sema”. I poised my sword to strike. It was then that I decided it was the right time. “Sword requip!” I yelled as my blade began to glow. In an instant, it had transformed into a golden staff. It had two golden rings towards the top with a turquoise ribbon descending the staff. At the top was the same large diamond pendant. It was then that Jellal decided to attack. “Sema!” He screamed as the orb of magic was hurled at me. “Supernova slash!” I screamed as I waved the staff, sending a large pulse of gold and turquoise colored magic hurling towards the black orb. The two met in between us but mine overcame the mighty Sema and sent Jellal sailing into a wall screaming in pain. I had won.

A few minutes later, after I had caught my breath, I walked over to Jellal. The room was no longer covered in shadows but in a brilliant light that reflected off the marble chess board that was on the floor. The chair which Jellal was sitting in when we first entered the room was knocked over. I knelt down by Jellal.

“E..Erza. Where am I? What happened?” He stuttered. This was the effect of the curse, he did not realize what he had done.

“All I remember is that tower and fighting you…Oh Erza I must have said some hurtful things, I am sorry.” Jellal said in a panic.

It was then that I did the only thing that would shut him up, I kissed him. It was a kiss that I had been waiting for years. I loved him and I didn’t care if he was a villain or a hero to the world, to me he was my precious Jellal, the kind boy I met in the tower so long ago. After a few minutes, I broke away in a fluster.

“I…I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to…” I stuttered.

“I’m not” He whispered as he kissed me back. “I love you too Erza.”

Those were the sweetest words I had ever heard. Finally the darkness was breaking from his heart and he was free. The stars had set him free. There was no more tower, no more despair, just us and our love.
