I caught Lucy in my arms before she hit the ground.
“Lucy, why would you do something like that? You could have died!” I said in a panic.
Lucy opened her chocolate brown eyes that I love.
“But I am not dead yet. I had to do it not just for the kingdom or my father, but for myself. This feud began with my blood and it will end with my blood.” Lucy said as her breathing started to become shallow.
“But you didn’t have to be stabbed in the process.”
“I couldn’t let you die Natsu because I care about you.” Lucy replied as she flinched in pain.
She had lost a lot of blood. I decided while her eyes were closed for a moment to do an act that showed her I cared about her as well. I took off the scarf that Igneel gave me and pressed it hard on the open wound. The pure white scraf which looked like it was made out of dragon scales was soon colored red with Lucy’s blood. She looked at the scarf and then looked me in the eyes with a hint of confusion.
“Natsu, your scarf!” She stated puzzled as she tried to take it off.
I put it back on the wound and whispered.
“Shh, don’t talk. It will help stop the bleeding for a little bit. This scarf was given to me by my dad Igneel, the dragon. It may be precious to me, but it is the memories, not the scarf, that matters to me. You are more precious to me than this scarf. We need to get Wendy to heal you fast.” I said while I looked at the rest of the guild who had finally reached the top of the stairs.
Wendy, Gramps and the rest of the guild began to circle around Lucy and me.
“Wendy, can you help Lucy, please?” I asked while looking directly at my blunette dragonslayer friend.
Lucy was about to say something but she did not have the strength to speak.
"Y..yes Natsu-san. I can try.” Wendy stuttered as she knelt down by Lucy.
She stretched out her hands as blue magic started to descend from her fingertips. Lucy was going to be okay, or at least I thought, until black magic came out of the wound, hitting Wendy in the hands.
“Ouch! What was that?” Wendy screamed.
“It seems as the sword that Lucy was stabbed with contained the same dark magic as the curse. No simple healing magic will cure this.” Master said slowly as he examined Lucy’s wound with black magic oozing out of it.
I placed my hand on the wound again. Lucy noticed it and placed her hand with her guild mark on top of mine.
“Natsu…I’m okay. Please help my father. He needs more help than I do now. The kingdom cannot survive without him.” She whispered in a calm voice.
I realized that it must have been hard for her to speak.
“Screw the kingdom and screw your father! I will find a way to you, I promise!” I yelled back in reply.
Lucy looked at me surprised and then smiled. That smile of hers could light up the entire room.
Lucy noticed Master Makarov standing beside her and suddenly her smile turned into a frown.
“Master, I am so sorry for all the trouble this feud between my father and I has caused. I did not imagine it would go this far.” Lucy choked as tears began to fall from her eyes.
I gently wiped away her tears. I hated to see Lucy cry.
“Its okay my child. Fairy Tail will always protect one of their own, no matter how much trouble we get into in the process.”
