You're My Mate?

Chapter 7

Austin's POV

"Alpha, you're making a nice recovery. If you want to stay here another night, you can. If you don't, you can go home."

About three weeks has passed since I tried to kill myself. Taylor watches me and I know that Roxanne is in his ear about him becoming Alpha.

"Thanks Doc. I'm gonna go home." I told him.

"Alrighty then. You're free to go."

I got up and shook his hand and walked out of my room. I was nervous about everyone seeing me, I haven't been a good alpha and it's affecting our pack.

"Hey dude, I was just coming by to see you." Taylor said walking up to me.

"I'm free. Two things I need."

"Yeah, anything."

"One, have you located Lucas?" I asked.

I knew he was gone. When I woke up and I asked to see him, they told me he was gone. One part of me was shocked that he actually left and the other part of me was actually upset.

"We have but he said he doesn't want to talk to you. He did leave a message."

"Saying?"

"He said 'fuck you, I hate you and all the pain you put me through.'"

"I see."

Not gonna lie, I was shocked he had the balls to do that. Seems like I fucked up tremendously.

"What's the other thing?" Taylor asked.

"Organize a pack meeting. It's time I take my pack back."

"Thank you all for meeting with me on such short notice. First off I would like to say that I'm really sorry for abandoning you all. My actions are not how an alpha should act, those were actions a coward shows and I'm not a coward.

"I was scared when I found out who my mate is and I still am. You should always love your mate no matter who it is and that's something I need to learn.

"Your Beta, Taylor, has done an excellent job in keeping the pack together and as a unity of love. He's someone who is always going to make me want to better myself because he's not a Beta to me, he's my brother and I love him dearly.

"From this day forth, I promise to be the Alpha you once knew as strong, courageous, wise, and most of all, loving.

"And with all of you as my witness, if I fail to keep my promises, then Taylor will be Alpha and I will be just a pack member."

Everyone gasped after I said that and Roxanne looked shocked.

Don't look surprised Roxy, you're getting what you want but not quite yet.

She looked at me, with her mouth open slightly, then started blushing. I smirked and finished my speech.

I walked to my office and Taylor was right there behind me. "Okay, um, here's the stack of papers that you need to review."

"What are they?" I asked.

"Some packs want to be allies. Some wolves want to be a part of the pack and some wolves want to leave."

"Leave?"

"Yeah, but I don't think so anymore now since you made that speech."

"Okay."

"And some are information about rouges getting close to our pack borders."

"Fucking hell Karen. Call Karen and ask her about the rogues. If they're with her, tell her to keep them under control."

"If they're not?"

"Kill them."

"Whoa, are you sure about that? We've never killed without an explanation before."

"Positive."

Taylor hesitated and sat in front of me. "Austin, I know you're trying to get the pack to listen to you again but the whole killing thing is taking it a little too far. Wouldn't it be best to take them to the dungeons?"

"Probably. Fine, we'll do it your way."

"Thanks Austin."

"That's Alpha to you."

"Yeah yeah yeah, whatever." He got up and left the office and I looked at the large stack of papers in front of me.

"Ugh, I hate paperwork with a passion."

There was a knock at the door and I rubbed my eyes. "Who is it?"

"Uncle Austin it's Fiona." I smiled and yelled come in. She came in with Oreos and sat on my lap.

"I brought you cookies Uncle Austin."

"Thank you Fiona. Where's your mom at?"

"She's with the twins. She said that they're starting to grow in teeth so they get more fussy."

I nodded and ate an Oreo. "So what brings you by here?"

"I missed you and also you told me that you would teach me how to fight."

"I did, did I? Okay, give me one hour and come back here and we can go there."

"Okay!" She said smiling. She got down and ran out of the office.

At least I'm getting a break from reading all of these papers. I rubbed my eyes again and stretched before getting out of my seat. I walked to my room and changed into workout clothes. I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed my eyes still looked lifeless. I'm not going to fight because my wolf is very weak and I'm not in fighting shape but I can teach Fiona a few techniques.

I got to the training room and Fiona was there waiting for me. When she saw me, she jumped up and said, "I'm ready Uncle Austin!"

"Okay Fi." I smiled and showed her some fighting techniques.

LOL are people even still reading this? I know I'm hella inactive and I always say I'll be more active but in all honesty, I only update when I feel like it and when I have time. Hope you enjoyed this chapter.
