You're My Mate?

Chapter 9

Austin's POV

My head was laying on Lucas's chest and his arm was wrapped around me. My wolf was at peace and I could tell he was getting stronger.

"What did Karen tell you?" Lucas asked.

*Flashback to earlier*

"Austin, talk to me," Karen asked whispering.

"When I was in my coma, I was with Tanya. I wanted to die fully just so I can be with her. She told me how disappointed she was in me. She went on saying how when you've found your mate, gender doesn't matter. I've done everything in my power to take my pack back but I've been getting weaker. I came here to get him back Karen. I need him, I need him so badly. He's in my dreams, he's on my mind all the time, I can't concentrate, nothing seems to be right. My temper has gotten so much more worse and my pack needs its leaders."

"Why don't you tell him that then, Austin? Why do you keep putting yourself through pain like this?"

"My pride, Karen. Also, I'm scared, I have a male mate. That's a lot to take in."

"You don't think it's the same for him? Go to him Austin and actually let down your walls."

She told me where he was staying and I hurried to go there.

*End Flashback*

"You need me?" Lucas asked shocked.

"Every wolf needs its mate. With this whole thing, I need to take it slowly because this is a lot for me to handle."

"Yeah."

"I want you to come back to the pack. We can work on things there without my sister butting in."

He giggled and I smiled at him. He is literally the cutest thing ever and I'm happy he's mine.

"Let's get out of here," Lucas said smiling.

I sighed out smiling and told him, "I didn't think you were gonna say yes."

"Austin, as much as I hate to admit this, I've missed you so much. I've longed for the day where you tell me that you need me." He held my hands and smiled. "Embrace me, embrace us. It'll be scary but as long as we have each other everything's gonna be alright."

I smiled and we both kissed each other. It was a slow, sensual kiss and I slid my tongue in his mouth. He smiled and pulled away. "We better stop now before it goes further than expected."

I nodded blushing. Crazy how not too long ago the thought of me kissing him made me sick to my stomach, now all I wanna do is kiss him.

He stretched and packed his bags. There was a knock at the door and I walked over to get it.

"Hi Karen."

"Hey little brother."

I rolled my eyes and replied, "Thirty minutes."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where's Lucas?"

"Packing."

"Good job, you two made up. But I need him, like ASAP."

I stood up straighter and asked, "What for?"

"His dad is here. He heard you were here and is demanding Lucas."

"Do you trust him?"

"His dad? Fuck no. But I also know what it's like to be outcasted by family."

"You're gonna take Lucas to see him?"

"Yeah, but I'm gonna be in the room and so are you. His dad isn't gonna hurt him at all."

"Austin, I'm ready. Oh, hey Karen."

"Hi Lucas. I need to come with me and Austin right quick."

"Alright. What for?"

We started walking to the pack house and Karen stopped and turned around. "Lucas, your dad is here. He says he wants to talk but I know that means he's gonna take you home and try to make you straight. Austin and I are not letting that happen at all so we're gonna be in the room while he talks to you."

Lucas froze and I squeezed his hand gently. "He's gonna have to go through me if he's gonna try and take you."

"Me and Rachel also. And let me tell you, the three of us are pretty strong."

"You can tell him whatever you want because as far as I'm concerned, you're a member of my pack and my mate. And I would do anything to protect you. It's okay to be wary of me after my actions but I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you to show you that you mean the absolute most to me."

Lucas had tears in his eyes and hugged Karen and I. He kissed me passionately and Karen started clapping.

"Fuck I miss my mate now."

We all laughed and Lucas said, "Let's go see what the fucking bastard wants with me."
