Prinxiety
■■■■■■■■■■Roman tapped his chin, his eyes
scanning over the many pieces of
papers littering his desk. He had one more wish to ask Virgil and he had no idea what. The pressure really was getting to him. This was the last touch of magic he would receive. Then it'd be gone and he'll just be Roman again. Plain old Roman who has nothing better to do.Virgil was messing with his thumbs, watching Roman's expression switch between confusion to confidence then back to confusion. He couldn't help but stare at him wondering what he was going to wish for. Roman had managed to not use his third wish for months. During that time they both had grown accustomed to each other, a love-hate relationship if you must. Well, that's how Virgil saw it.
"Oh, I got it!" Roman jumped up the rolling chair, pushing it back to the other side of the room. He spun around knocking the arrangement of papers to the floor below.
Virgil felt his heart sink into his stomach, his throat clogging up.
"I wish-"
"Please, don't" Virgil croaked out as he tried to desperately hold his composure. Roman's smile faded from his face, his eyebrows wrinkling in confusion.
God Virgil, can't you keep quiet for once?
"Wait what, why not?" Roman stepped forward, tilting his head to the side. Virgil bit his lip raising his hands into a surrendering position.
"Forgive me" his eyes were glossed over in pure fear, "I shouldn't have said anything-"
Virgil shook his head forcing a smile onto his face. Roman was issued three wishes. It was not fair to him to not use one because of his emotions. Virgil was a mere servant. Nothing compared to the humans who ruled over him. He had magic but they had control.
"Go ahead."
"No." Roman met his gaze, his fist clenching. Virgil needed to say something and he wasn't going to let him pass it on.
"What is it?"
Virgil ran a hand through his hair, looking everywhere but Roman. He walked to the chair, taking a seat. Virgil didn't know how to word what he wanted to say. Roman was suppose to make three wishes, Virgil would grant them and then..
Then Virgil would leave, return to an empty home and life. Fall asleep until someone woke him up again. Someone who would not be Roman. For Roman would have moved on like everyone else did. He was a toy that became useless. Who would want that?
No one. No one would.
"Virgil, you can tell me anything"
Roman sank down in front of him,
placing his hands on his knees. Searching for answers only to be met with silence."It's.." Virgil started, his voice rough and scratchy. He could feel the lump in his throat grow bigger.
"This is your third wish" Of course he had to point out the obvious. They both knew that.
Roman nodded, "My third wish-"
"Once you make this wish, I-
Virgil sucked in a huge breath,
I dissapear and I lose you..forever"
Virgil looked down at Roman tears manifesting in the corner of his eyes. It was selfish of him to want to stay with Roman. To not want to give him his last wish bevause of emotions he allowed to get to him.
"Oh" Roman quickly moved up wrapping his arms around the others frail frame. Virgil slipped his hands behind Roman's neck, sinking into the crook of his neck. He silently cried into him, god this was stupid.
Roman had a better idea now.
"Virgil"
"Yes?"
Roman stayed silent then pulled away, wiping the tears from Virgil's face, "I have a wish I need to make"
Virgil's eyes widened, had he not listened to him? Did he think he was joking? No, no Roman wouldn't, he wouldn't..he..he wouldn't.
He..
"I wish-"
