'Another rider has risen,' she stated simply. That caught Eragon off guard. He felt like someone had punched him squarely on the stomach. 'What?' he wheezed out. It was barely more than a whisper, but Elva heard it clearly. 'He is called the 'Ghost' and nobody have met him. Many has seen him from a distance, but nobody managed to get close to him. They tell me he is very skillful though i doubt that,' she continued. 'And why do you say so?' Eragon asked, truly puzzled. 'If he was really skillful, he wouldn't have showed his dragon to the public. That's how i got to know that our friend here is a rider like yourself,' she stated in a matter-of-fact tone. 'Is he a friendly?' Eragon asked now becoming serious. 'Oh yes! He is very helpful to the poorer folk.He gives away gold coins to those who needs it dearly and try as much as he can to reduce the status differences in the country. For that, they worship him as though he is some sort of an angel sent from the heavens,' she elaborated. 'And, they tell me he is extremely handsome!' excitement in her voice. 'Hmm, where did you say you saw him?' he asked becoming even more guarded, he knew he had to deal with this issue soon before it becomes a problem. 'I never told you where i saw him yet,' she spoke as though talking to a small child. Eragon scowled. 'Surda,' she shrugged giving him a single word answer as though it explains all.

'What?!' he exclaimed. 'Why didn't you say so earlier? We have to deal with this as soon as possible!' he was growing agitated. Eragon knew King Orin didn't exactly liked the riders. He would have this 'Ghost' killed as soon as he hears of this. 'I better hurry and get to Surda, Agleasia cannot afford to lose a rider especially when there is so little of them. Only two of them to be exact, myself and this 'Ghost' fellow,' he mumbled. Elva shook her head enthusiastically. She wanted to meet this 'Ghost' immediately and she was confident Eragon could bring her to him. After all, who wouldn't want to meet Eragon Shadeslayer and she was sure the 'Ghost' will come out of his hiding spot. 'Did you try to contact this 'Ghost' ?, Eragon asked breaking her from her train of thought. 'Uh, what?' she stuttered. Eragon sighed shaking his head. She bit her bottom lip for making a fool out of herself especially in front of Eragon. She liked him and had long forgave his error that made her who she is today, though he doesn't know that. Thanks to him, she had lost her childhood, but she had gained a vast knowledge and experience along with an increased amount of lifespan. She like the way he would fidget around her. She knew he feared her immense power though he had nothing to fear of. True, she had swore to him but not out of force, instead she had willingly done it. She knew she wouldn't raise a finger to hurt him, but she liked to keep him in the dark.

'No, I was leaving the town to travel to Urubaen when I heard about this. If I had heard it earlier, I would have snooped around more about this individual,' she composed herself before replying. 'Why didn't you stayed another day? Surely another day wouldn't hurt, and you would have been able to get more information,' Eragon asked. 'I had a tight schedule to follow, so I didn't stop for another day. Besides, I was sure you would come down yourself to solve this matter and whatever information I gather will only be told again to you. 'It's best you come and see for yourself, the King would be more open to you and will less likely hide anything from you as he knows you can knock his feeble defence he had set up in his mind to extract any information concealed by him,' she explained. 'Hmm, if you had arrived a little earlier, I would have had told the elves to look for this individual and persuade him to return with them and meet me here,' Eragon sighed. He only received a snort from her. 'Well, I think you know your way out of here since you arrived on your own without problem,' he cassualy dismissed her. 'No, I'm coming with you,' she told him her plan, a grin playing on her lips.

'Why?' Eragon quizzed seeming a little puzzled. 'I like to be at places where things are happening,' she stated. 'Now you sound like Angela,' he snorted. 'I grew up with her at my side. She thought me many things while she studied my growth rate and other health conditions. She was more like a mother to me,' her eyes misted but she furiously blinked it away stubborn not to let Eragon see her cry. At the thought of mother, Eragon's thoughts went to his mother, Selena. He had never got the chance to know her at all. She died after giving birth to him. He slowly pushed such thoughts away behind a wall that he had built within his own mind to separate his sorrow and painful memories with the other memories. He was trying so hard to push this particular memory behind the wall that he never notice Elva had swiftly wiped her tears with the sleeve of her long sleeved elven-made dress. After managing to push the thought securely behind his wall, he spoke up, 'We leave immediately, if there is nothing else.' Elva shook her head and begin to gather her belongings. Eragon went to his chambers and begin packing. On his way out, he told Blodhgarm that he was leaving for Surda immediately. Blodhgarm did not question his intention, intead he said,' Allow one of us to come with you Argetlam, it will be safer for you that way. Also, we dare not disobey Queen Arya's orders that you are not allowed to enter Agleasia without a bodyguard especially when the Black Hand is still active and trying to assinate at least one of the leaders of the Varden. Even the Earl of Palancar Valley, Roran Stronghammer has a group of magician around him and his family all the time.

'I know what the situation is in Agleasia and how severe the problem is elda-Blodhgarm, but this task requires my outmost attention. I'll be extra swift in my visit. I already have a magician accompanying me so my protection matter is out of discussion. Also she is the only one capable of leading me to my target, and she is a powerful sorcerers herself.  Do not worry about me while I'm there. Nobody needs to know about this except you and those you deem fit to protect this secret. Keep it as quiet as you can. The Queen doesn't need to know about my departure nor my destination. If she insists that she see me or that she needs to speak to me, contact me immediately. Tell her that I have gone to somewhere far that you don't know about. Delay her as much as you can and try to buy me as much time as possible. Is that understood?' Eragon asked. Blodgarm nodded solemnly.  ' I'm placing you and your eleven friends in charge in my absence. Without Saphira's and my presences, the Valley of Hope will be vulnerable to attacks. Place the Alzuri as soon as all the works outside the valley is complete. You will find the parchment containing the spell for the Alzuri under the seat of my throne in the Lizcari Axore. Make sure you check for any errors or flaws in the spell and make any amends you feel necessary before placing it. Also, make sure the preparations for the ceremony is continued. I'll be back before the ceremony if all goes as planned.' Eragon spoke hastily. Blodhgarm hesitated, before finally saying, 'Atra esterni ono  thelduin Shur'tugal. I hope your journey brings success to you and may you find what you are looking for,' while twisting his finger over his sternum. 'Mor'ranr lifa unin hjartaonr, thank you elda- Blodhgarm,' Eragon replied thankfully that his journey was going to start so soon. He was already anxious to reach Surda and meet this 'Ghost'. He barely heard  Blodhgarm replying, 'Un du evarinya ono varda'.

'Saphira? Meet me at the opening near the Lizcari Axore when you are ready. We are leaving at once if there is nothing else to take care of,' he called out as he walked back to where Elva was waiting. It was very near from his chambers to the Lizcari Axore and when he arrived, Elva was already standing with her sword on her hip. It was definitely made for the royalty. How did she managed to get her hands on such elegant sword, Eragon could only guess. The sound Saphira's majestic wings beating came clearly to his heightened sense of hearing announcing her arrival. She landed smoothly and walked to Eragon. She buried her head into his chest as he scratched lightly at her ears. She hummed her approval. Elva stood silently watching this exchange. She cleared her throat loudly to gain their attention, and it worked. Both pair of eyes were on her wanting an explanation. 'We should be leaving if we want to make it to Surda by tomorrow night the earliest,' she explained. Eragon nodded as Saphira snorted. Alright, lets go!' Eragon exclaimed.
