Nightmares

Sorry if this is shit. Anyway, this is set between HoH and BoO. Mostly Percabeth and a little bit of Jiper/Jasper. Sorry for bad spelling or grammar.

Piper's PoV

Piper awoke to screaming. Her first instinct was to jump up and run to the screaming person's aid, but her entire body rebelled against the thought of getting out of her nice warm bed. Still, she leaped up, pulled on a jumper and grabbed katoptris. She peaked her head out of her door.

She saw Hazel, Frank, and Jason looking out into the hallway, all armed. Leo stumbled up the stairs that led to sickbay. He must have been sleeping in the engine room again. The last out was Percy, he looked wide awake, even though he had dark purple bags underneath his eyes.

Jason looked at the demigods surrounding him and pointed towards Annabeth's door. Another cry rang out and before anyone could stop him, Percy had unsheathed riptide and charged into the bedroom, ready to face anything that might be hurting his girlfriend. Everyone else followed, crowding Annabeth's doorway.

Piper forced her way to the front of the crowd. There was no monster, no intruder but the sight was still horrifying. Annabeth was curled into a fetal position, shaking. Her face was streaked with tears and her eyes were puffy. Annabeth screamed again. Percy rushed too her side and went to put his hand on her shoulder. He hesitated, as if he thought it would hurt her, but came to a decision and gently placed his hand on her shoulder. Her eyes shot open, wide with terror.

"Hey, Wise Girl," Percy said softly. "You were having a nightmare but you're ok. We're out."

Annabeth trembled and whispered two words.

"Bob. Damasen."

Percy nodded, his eyes filling with grief.

"I know Wise Girl. But they sacrificed themselves so we could live. So we need to do that."

Annabeth just closed her eyes and wept, not aware of the audience she had. Percy scooped her up, one arm hooked under her knees and the other around her back. He kissed her on the forehead as she buried her face in his shoulder. He carried her out of the room, shoving past Frank and Hazel.

When he got to his door, he glared at them (especially Leo), waiting to be challenged about tonights sleeping arrangements. Nobody dared to speak. He turned, satisfied that no one would object, and shut the door with his foot. Through the door, we could just hear a muffled,

"I love you, Wise Girl."

And then silence. Peace had returned to the Argo II.

"I hope they are going to be ok." Voiced Hazel, glancing towards Percy's room with a worried look in her eyes.

"I don't think they can be," she found herself saying. "At least not yet, not after all they've been through."

The others nodded and started heading back to their respective rooms. Jason caught my hand, his blonde hair mussed from sleep.

"Hey," he said softly. "Are you ok?"

"It's not me you should be concerned about."

"I'm always going to be concerned about you! You may not always appreciate it but you're my best friend, I can never stop worrying."

Piper smiled, "I love you too, Sparky."

She pulled him into a hug.

"I'm serious Pipes, are you ok?"

She shook her head.

"I just wish I could help them."

She looked up and Jason kissed her forehead.

"You are helping them!"

She looked at him, confused.

"How?"

"By just being there. Supporting them. Being their friend!"

She smiled.

"Thanks, Sparky."

And she kissed him.

WIIIII I UPDATED. I felt like the after effects of Tartarus were completely overlooked in BoO. Especially when we didn't get a chapter from Percy or Annabeth's PoV. I get that they narrated in the last book and we had Reyna and Nico narrating but I felt that they should have been spotlighted more. And to be fair, Leo, Jason, and Piper also narrated in the last book. Oh well, that's my rant over. (Comment your opinions).

I'm working on the Christmas one shot. (I promise you that it's much better than the last one). And speaking of that, wow. This book has been out for over a year. To be fair, I did kinda take a break but oh well.
