The Attack Of The Cicadas

Hi guys, long time no see. I've been on holiday for ages and haven't had time to update. I'm so sorrryyyyy! I wrote this long one shot to make it up to you. It's dedicated to my cousin chloehedders who I have spent the summer with. She was attacked by Cicadas in Japan😋 She is currently writing a book but it is yet to be published. I have read it and it was great. So go follow her do you can check it out when it's published. Anyway, on with the story!!!!

Percy was struggling in the relentless heat during midday. Why did I agree to go to Japan for Annabeth? He downed a load of water before tipping the rest on his head.

"Don't waste it Seaweed Brain!" Said Annabeth walking up to him.

"I'm too hot" he replied.

They had decided to have a break from demigod life and (with Zeus' permission) had flown to Japan for Annabeth to marvel at the famous Japanese Architecture, much to Percy's dismay.

The whole way Percy had either slept, watched films or trembled in Annabeth's arms.

When they had got there Annabeth checked them into the hotel (I need to thank Hermes for booking that nice hotel for us, Percy thought) and they went out for dinner in an Italian restaurant as most of the Japanese restaurants in the area only served fish dishes.

The next day they decided to go and visit some temples.

As Annabeth brought a new bottle of water from the vending machine Percy took out a frisbee from his back pack.

"Percy, put that frisbee away. These temples are sacred places and I do not want you to offend anyone."

Percy frowned.

"It's like someone throwing a frisbee in your fathers temple." Annabeth explained. " Why do you have a frisbee anyway?"

Percy just smiled and and went to put the frisbee away when a strong gust of wind (A/N I wonder who that is?😎) blew the frisbee high up into a bush.

"Shoot" said Percy, "I need to get it done. My Mom brought it for me. You go ahead Wise Girl, I'll grab this then meet you at the cafe."

Annabeth shook her head. "No way. I'm watching you get this down." She smirked.

He groaned and walked towards the bush. He grabbed a branch of the tree next to it, only to crash back down when the branch broke.

Annabeth laughed and didn't go to help him up. Percy surveyed the situation and walked up to the bush, grabbing some leaves and started to shake it. Much to Percy's delight the frisbee started to slide only to get stuck again. He started to shake more vigorously when the frisbee fell on his head.

But that wasn't the only thing that landed on him. A black bug had landed on his arm. Then Percy looked up to see a swarm of them coming right at him.

"AHHhHhH. MONSTERS ARE ATTACKING!!!!!" Percy yelled and took off down the path. "Save Me Annabeth!!!!!!!!!"

Yet Annabeth was no help at all. She sat there laughing her head off at the sight of Percy being chased by a swarm of Cicadas.

Percy finally got rid of them by jumping into the pond. With their target no longer in sight, they went back to whatever Cicadas do.

When Percy finally emerged he went back to pick up his frisbee. He pouted at Annabeth.

"Come on Seaweed Brain don't be like that." Annabeth said. "It was so funny!"

Percy ignored her.

Annabeth walked over to Percy and kissed him. He kissed back.

When they broke away Percy took Annabeth's hand and started walking.

"Lets go to the cafe and get me a blue coke."

Annabeth smiled and they walked away.

Little did they know.... The cicadas were watching their every move......
