Hey guys,
Long time, no see. I know it's not an excuse but things are complicated and whenever I write something it turns out complete shit. I'm not on hiatus or anything it's just gonna be really slow updates. So yeah. Sorry.
Lily.
"What's wrong with this world? Why is it so filled with hate? Why are people suffering? Just, why?"
Piper didn't reply. She never does. After her parents split up... she hasn't said a word. She just shrugs her shoulders and returns to her magazine. Annabeth looks at Hazel.
"Who knows Annabeth? Maybe some gods just enjoy other peoples misery."
"Yeah, maybe."
Nothing good happens anymore. Ever since they lost Zoë and Bianca in the car crash, everything went downhill. Piper's parents got a divorce, Hazel was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Leo got transferred to somewhere far away by social services and Nico was arrested for a crime he didn't commit. They all gave up waiting a long time ago, waiting for a miracle.
"Maybe."
They all went back to whatever they were doing. The silence filling the room. Only the rustle of paper as Piper turned a page in her magazine could be heard. Annabeth leaned her head against the window sill and looked out onto the world. It was quiet. The offices would be coming out for lunch in just under 2 hours.
"I think we should get some lunch. I don't have anything here and lunch break isn't until 1:00 so the coffee shops will be quiet."
Piper looked up from her magazine and nodded. Hazel shook her head.
"I can't eat anything right now. It would mess with my new medication."
Annabeth smiled sadly at Hazel.
"Well, at least you can get a green tea."
Hazel beamed. It was her favorite.

They made their way into the coffee shop, aiming for their usual spot.
"I'll go order."
Annabeth made her way over to the counter. A boy with green eyes had just finished with a customer. He smiled at her.
"Hi there, welcome to Poseidon's Coffee! What can I get you?"
"I'll have two green teas, a hot chocolate and one piece of Victoria sponge please."
He nodded and called over to his colleague.
"Two green teas and a hot chocolate Jason!"
"Coming right up Percy."
She handed her cash over to him. As he took it and placed it in the cashier his sleeve slipped. His tanned arm was covered in thin, white scars, identical to her own. He followed her gaze and quickly pulled his sleeve up. Then he noticed hers, peeking over the top of her jacket. He gave her a sad smile. She could see the empathy in his eyes.
She tried to return the smile but it just didn't come. Percy placed her drinks and cake on a tray and handed it to her.
"Thanks."
Just as she made to leave he grabbed her arm. She turned to look at him.
"You'll get through it."
She nodded and made her way to the table. Hazel was quietly complaining about a group of girls in front of them.
"They all must have such perfect lives." She mumbled.
"No," Annabeth said as she placed the tray on the table. "No one's life is perfect. We are all just broken people, but some are more broken than others."
Both Piper and Hazel smiled slightly and nodded. Maybe, she thought, just maybe their lives would get better.
Because she knew one thing.
They were not alone.
Finis.

Sorry there's not a lot of percabeth. And sorry it's short. As I said before, writing is quite difficult for me right now so this is the best I can offer you. I do want to keep this going as it is really good experience for me and I love hearing from you guys. I will try to keep updating as much as possible.
Thanks for all your support,
Lily
