Ace's POV
I was reading my latest report on the success of my new hotel when a email popped up. I opened it and my eyes blurred over the words. My Aunt Dew had died. She was battling against lung cancer and just wanted to escape all of the pain. Aunt Dew was my only motherly figure in my whole life. When I was born my parents died suddenly from a unknown heart attack. She was there for me when she told me. She was there for me and comforted me during the darkest of days. She was the one that was there for me when no one else was. So I built up walls, to protect my young and fragile heart. She was the only one who could see what I had been through and supported me no matter what.
I closed my laptop with a bang making Crystal jump but I was past the point of caring. Tears stinging at my eyes I rushed out my hands shaking with anger. I ran into my gym and walked over to the punching bag. I took a deep breath in before punching my heart out. My hands bled at the force and quickly became red and numb but I kept on going. I heard the door open softly and Crystal came in. She took one look at my hands and ran over begging me to stop.
"Please stop, pleas-"
My arm drew back violently and hit her stomach. She doubled up in agony and tears sprang almost immediately into her eyes. She stared at me sadly and inched away when I tried to approach her. The agony must have been too great and I ran out trying to find my personal doctor. But then I realised I had given him a day off as I would be staying at home. Fuck! I begged one of my maids to give me a first aid kit and she quickly found one and gave it to me. I ran back into the gym almost tripping over a barbell and ripping open the first aid kit. Bandages and cream spilled out and I looked at it with confusion. Wasn't a first aid kit meant to have medical stuff like scapels and all that shit? Where were they?
Crystal stood up shakily leaning on the weights as support. I picked her up bridal style and she didnt resist her legs finally giving way. I apologised over and over again as we walked towards her bedroom but she stared off as if she was in her own little world. I laid her on the bed carefully and tended to the injury. I could already see bits of purple forming. That's got to leave a nasty bruise. She eventually started to go to sleep and kissed her forehead softly before walking out.
I feel like her knight in shining armour, except she isn't the damsel in distress and I'm wearing rusty armour.
