Ace's POV

Crystal was admitted to one of the hospitals I owned. I took a deep breath in and walked before taking a huge breath in. My eyes roamed her fragile body on the hospital bed and I winced at the sight of the huge IV drips and machines. Nurses stood around her whispering and bowed quickly at the sight of me before continuing their discussion. At my order, I had asked 24/7 coverage over her which meant doctors were by her side at all times. I had asked the top doctor to personally serve her so she regained consciousness as soon as possible. I closed my eyes but immediately opened them again. Every time I closed my eyes I saw Crystal on the floor, barely breathing, her face pale. Dr. Mark entered his face tired and worried. He had also been working nonstop on an antidote, even though I begged him to rest.

The doors suddenly flew open as a dark haired person barged in, eyes narrowing as soon as he saw Crystal. The doctors attempted to stop him until he said something to them and they mutely nodded and led him to the bed. He stared down at her for 5 minutes before taking a deep breath and walked out, tears prickling at the back of his blue eyes. The same eyes Crystal had...

A doctor who sensed my confusion hurried over quickly before explaining that it was her brother. Blake Williams had arrived after hearing that his sister had been on the brink of death after eating a poisoned cookie. I massaged my temple and walked out grimacing. Me and my team of investigators had been working non-stop to try and find the mastermind and we had come to the conclusion that one of the maids or servants had either been hired or decided to poison her. However we crossed out that the they had done it on their own accord as all of them liked Crystal's personality. Dr. Mark exited a few minutes later typing furiously on his phone. He looked up anxiously and gestured for me to follow him.

I followed him reluctantly, glancing back at the hospital door before walking out with him.

"Any progress?"

He shook his head.

"What type of poison was it do you know?"

"No, but I have a guess"

"Which one?"

"Cyanide"

That word alone made my heart drop. I had heard of Cyanide and how it could kill people with just the smell. And Crystal ate the whole cookie. One that was filled with Cyanide.

"Will she be okay?"

"I'm not sure"

"How is she right now?"

"On the brink of death"

My heart beating I walked in watching the doctors desperately try to wake her up. It was no good. What chance would there have been when the smell can kill you?

"She's a fighter"

I spun around. There was Blake Williams, tears flooding down his pale face.

"Ever since the accident, I blamed her. I couldn't understand why they sacrificed themselves just so she could make it. I hated her. But I guess she would have already told you."

I offered him a weak smile and he returned it before slumping down in one the chairs.

"It just seems so real now, you know? She's all I have left. I can't lose her, like I lost her trust ages ago. I just can't."

He broke down in tears. I sighed and sat down next to him patting his back softly. The thought of losing Crystal myself made me terrified. She was there for me when I mourned my dead Aunt, and I was here helping her brother get over her.

"We can't do anything. Its up to her. But we can pray"

He opened his eyes and gave me a tired smile before standing up and walking next to her. He touched her face gently and she made no move.

"She used to laugh when I touched her face. When we were young. I would always tickle her and she would grab my hand and prevent me. We would both laugh and those were our happiest moments together. That all changed because of my stupid anger issues. I hurt her. I hit her. I hated her. And now the time I realise that I will always love her, she can't hear or see me"

And with that he bowed his head and began mouthing words to her motionless body. I smiled at the sight and left them alone. He needed some time to tell Crystal everything.

"Sir?"

"Yes?"

"Miss Williams is in a coma. The likelihood of her waking up have now been decreased down to 5%."

"There is still hope right?"

"Yes, but it is very low. I am afraid that we must prepare ourselves for the worst"

I didn't realise I was crying until a tear splashed on to my cold hands.

For some reason Wattpad acted weirdly and didn't update this chapter. So I improved it a bit.
