"Thank you, Haldir," I said as he helped me down from my horse.

When my feet touched the ground, Haldir put his arm around my waist. I, of course, could not feel the ground beneath my feet, but I was not bothered by it. Haldir and I waited for Lady Galadriel and her husband, Lord Celeborn, to join us. Haldir was my older brother, so he was by my side a lot, along with our brothers Rúmil and Orophin.

A group of elves from Lothlórien had traveled to the Greenwood forest to celebrate the Festival of Light. Greenwood was ruled by King Thranduil. He was a good ruler, but tended to be cold. He had a son named Legolas, who was still a young elfling. King Thranduil's wife had died many years ago, adding to the king's coldness.

The Lothlórien elves had arrived in Greenwood a few weeks in advance to the Festival, giving them time to adjust to life there and get to know the elves better. I smiled when Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn approached me and Haldir. We nodded politely to the rulers, who smiled back at us.

"Let us go inside," Lady Galadriel said, taking her husband's arm.

Haldir followed after them, practically dragging me behind them. I had gotten better at walking over the years, but it was still very difficult since I could not feel my legs.

"Are you alright, (y/n)?" Lady Galadriel asked with her mind reading gift.

"Yes, my lady. I will be fine. I'm just a little stiff from the ride."

"That in understandable, my dear. While we are here, I don't want you to strain yourself too much. If you ever need anything, do not be afraid to contact me."

"Thank you, Lady Galadriel."

I hadn't realized how quickly we had walked through the halls until we were standing before the throne room doors. A set of guards opened the doors, allowing the travelers to walk through.

"Presenting the Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn," someone said.

King Thranduil rose from his throne as the Lothlórien elves approached. Lady Galadriel and her husband stopped to bow to him. Haldir and I did the best we could to do the same. When I rose to my normal height, I couldn't help but smile. Behind King Thranduil, I could see a small figure clutching to his robes. I immediately guessed it was Prince Legolas.

"Welcome, travelers from Lothlórien," King Thranduil said, bowing slightly to them. "Your quarters have already been arranged for when you are ready to retire."

"You have our thanks, King Thranduil," Celeborn said. He smiled slightly. "Is that young lad behind you Prince Legolas?"

Thranduil nodded and glanced down at the young elf.

"Legolas, say hello to our guests," he instructed.

Legolas peeked out of his hiding spot and looked at the visitors. I couldn't help but wave slightly at him. He smiled and waved back before hiding again. I saw Thranduil roll his eyes slightly at his son. Rúmil turned to look at me.

"Would you like to go to your room, muinthil?" he asked.

I nodded with a small smile. I did not want to seem impolite for leaving so early, but I was getting a little tired from behind held up by my brother.

"If you must rest, then go rest, (y/n). It will not be impolite, I assure you."

"Thank you, my lady."

My brothers and I bowed once more to King Thranduil, excusing ourselves. The king nodded, a small look of confusion on his face. Haldir led me out of the throne room, our brothers close behind us. When we were away from the throne room, Orophin spoke up.

"You look tired, (y/n)," he said. "Are you alright?"

"Just exhausted from the trip, Orophin. Nothing more." With a quick movement, Haldir lifted me up into his arms. I let out a small squeak, causing my brothers to chuckle. I groaned. "A little warning next time, Haldir?"

"But then it wouldn't be any more fun," he replied with a small smirk.

I rolled my eyes at him. We finally found our rooms. Rúmil opened my door and Haldir walked inside. He gently set me down in a chair, facing the window.

"You'll let Lady Galadriel know if you need us?" he said.

"Don't I always? I'll be fine here, munidor nín. Do not worry about me."

They nodded. Orophin placed my traveling bag by my chair and the three left the room. I smiled, happy to know I always had them to protect me. I reached into my bag and pulled out one of the books I brought.
