Chapter 32: Breaking My Hopeless Heart

  Liam and I didn't went karaoke-ing with Bethany and the others. I had to fake a stomach ache again, this time it reminded of the time when Liam and I started hanging out in school. We were still strangers back then and now he's my friend. I looked at him while he walked me home but he's too shy to look back. Tucking my hair behind my ear, I took Liam's hand. "It's fine. Just let me be happy for now," I interrupted him before he says something. I can't believe we could be this close. It was like yesterday we had been strangers. 

  We arrived at our house and I prepared dinner for the both of us though he insisted not eating with me because he was embarrassed. I insisted so he was forced to eat my food. He ate it shyly while I look at him, hoping for a comment but for half a second, I remembered he wasn't Jacob. Jacob would usually say, "This is delicious!" "Awesoomme!" "Seconds!" 

  "Why are you smiling and looking at me like that?" Liam waved his hands in front of my eyes.

  "I was smiling?" I asked, confused.

  "Yeah, pretty much. It reached until your ears," he replied. 

  "Whatever," I smiled. "So, umm, what did you think of the food I cooked?"

  "It's okay. Yummy," he commented. "You could become a chef, ya know."

  "I've been thinking..." I nodded. After I washed the dishes, I watched television with Liam. Suddenly, I accidentally flipped into a channel where there's this romance movie. Liam sat closer to me and put his hand on top of the couch, instead of around me. We both watch closely and little by little, the actor was familiar...and yeah, it's Jacob Hunter. Can't believe he's really back. I continued watching. He was with a lovely blonde lady. Thousand times better looking than me and they were near with each other. Their faces are inches apart. 

  "Are you sure you wanna continue watching?" Liam whispered.

  I didn't anwer but Liam still didn't flipped the channel. We just watched what would happen next.

  "Don't go," the blonde lady said close to his lips. "I'll be lonely."

  Jacob caressed her face and said, "I won't. I'll never leave you." The next thing I know, the girl moved her lips to Jacob. They were kissing. After Jacob broke away, this time, he kissed her back. Automatically, I leaned my head on Liam's chest as he switched off the tv. 

  "How could he do that, Liam?" I cried out loud. 

  "Well, first of all, he's an actor remember?" Liam replied.

  "Yeah but...he could've said no," I gripped Liam's shirt hard and continued crying. Jacob broke my heart again. My world has shattered. 

  "I'll help you forget if that's alright with you," Liam reached for my face and brought it closer to his. "Tell me to stop."

  I stayed silent. If Jacob dared to do that, I would too. Liam moved closer and as if we're breathing the same air. My heart was nervous. But then, my door swung open. There, stood...famous actor, my ex-boyfriend, Jacob Hunter.
