Chapter 4

Luke
October 2017

I can tell that although Lucy and Lola are enjoying Atlanta, they are definitely missing Los Angeles. I love having my girls around but I know they miss the family and dry heat. The southern humidity is not for them.

"Baby," I play in Lucy's hair as we sit on the sofa watching Lola play. Lucy's head is on my shoulder. "Why don't you and Lola go back home?"

Lucy picks her head up to look in my eyes with her incredibly light brown ones. "Why? You don't want us here anymore? Messing with your bachelor lifestyle out here?"

"What?" I'm so surprised by her reaction. "Why would I want a bachelor lifestyle?"

"Well," Lucy sits up with a smile so I know she's joking. "Atlanta is the home of strippers. I know you and Elijah go out like the single man Elijah is. You can come and go as you please. Don't have to tell two girls where you're going and with who. Being here is like being single again."

"Girl," I laugh before kissing my LuLu. "I gave up that single life shit when I decided that I loved you," I kiss her again. "The club is played out anyway, baby. Why go to the club when I can stay home and talk to you and Lola? Plus the strippers are shit out here compared to L.A and New Orleans."

Lucy just smiles. "Lola does miss Mrs. Jenkins and everybody," she pauses. She frowns and fear enters her eyes. "But I don't want to be away from you, Luke. I-I don't know if I can be alone right now."

"Baby." I wrap my arms around her. I see Lola look back at us. With her little smart butt, she stumbles over to us to lay her head against Lucy's knee.

"Ma, Bun." Lola says.

Lucy picks up her head. "What, baby?"

"Ma, Bun." Lola gestures from Lucy to herself.

"I don't understand, Bunny." Lucy shakes her head and looks at me. I shrug.

"Ma," Lola points at Lucy. "Bun." She points to herself.

"You have her," I tell Lucy. "You won't be alone because you have Lola Bunny."

"Aw, Bunny. Come here," Lucy picks Lola up. She kisses Lola who is smiling very widely. "You're right. Mommy does have Bunny."

"You have to finish this week of shooting, but y'all are going back to L.A. I'll be there a few days after you. Lee showed me the script for next week. I can get all the scenes involving me done quickly and meet y'all at home or wherever y'all will be," I kiss Lucy's forehead. Lola looks at me expectedly. "I'm sorry, babygirl."

I kiss Lola's forehead before kissing all over her face. She starts squealing and squirming in Lucy's arms.

"Alright. I'll book all of our flights." Lucy kisses me before placing Lola in my lap. She walks into the bedroom.

"Da." Lola curls up in my lap like she was sleepy.

"Is Bunny sleepy?" I ask. She nods. "Alright. Well, Bunny can sleep with Daddy because Daddy is sleeping too."

I lay down on my back to lay Lola on my chest. I place a blanket over us and go to sleep with my babygirl.

"I don't want to go." Lucy whines as I hug her tightly to me. I won't be going to the airport with her and Lola. Their bodyguards, Henry and Calvin, will be going with them while Jacob and Phillip are staying with me.

"LuLu, baby, you're going. You're unhappy here." I sigh.

"I'll be unhappy if I'm not with you." She says and my heart breaks.
