In my college world history class I got to write an essay on Alexander the Great.
Spoiler Alert! Some of you may not be expecting this up coming information. Recent doctors say he didn't die from poison and I am here to explain why.
The only person he ever really had conflict was his own father. His father was overbearing that one night he lost his head because he drank too much and attacked his own son but because had too much to drink he could hold up his own sword. Alexander and his mother had to flee the country till his cooled off so they lived with Alexander's father.
2. The soldiers loved their leader. They didn't break apart till after Alexander was gone.
Plus where he died was in the middle of the desert. I mean seriously would some ride all the way into the desert just poison someone? Think about that, please. Doctors today are saying it might have been malaria that caused his death. His dying doesn't really makes sense but we can assume one thing I bet any battle  wounds he had made have an infection of some sort because medicine was not known to be used back then as it is today.
Also heads up little of the movies about Alexander the Great are correct when it comes to his palace life.
Alexander was kind even to the lands he conquered. In fact in Persia he did not have. The king's cousin had killed the king hoping to take throne. Alexander heard about came to the deceased king's tent and wept for awhile. Then he went after the King's cousin. Alexander perferred other customs thank his own and I think we know why. He was an outcast in his home according to everyone except the Athenians. After killing the king's cousin he bury the king and apointed the king's brother to throne. He also set free a noble women of Persia and her husband and everyone in that women's house. He cared about other royalty.
Everyone outside his home seemed to welcome more than within his home. So why would poison be a killing option if it was a culprit it would have to be used during a battle on a weapon and it would have to be a slow to take effect poison but not traces of that hsve been found by doctors who are now considering it may have been malaria or typhoid fever.
How he died? It is debatable but it certainly wasn't poison.
