I sat in the car in silence.
Paige was focused on the road.

I felt ashamed........I was so stupid. I feel like I always mess everything up.
The last minutes in the mall went by like a haze. Everything was blurry. Everyone was staring. I couldn't help it. Paige realized she was being hard on me. She ended up running over to comfort me. That's why she wasn't talking. She knew she did something wrong.
"Hay-"
"What." I heard my tone of voice. It didn't sound like I wanted it to sound.
Pause.
"Do you maybe want to talk?"
"No."
It wasn't like we would have enough time for talking. We were just pulling in to the hotel parking deck.
"Ok! We're here!"
"Yes. I'm completely aware of that because I have eyes."
"Woah. Looks like Miss negative has arrived."
I took the bags out of the seat behind me and started walking to the door to the lobby. I didn't need Paige. I knew how to get there myself.
"Hey, where are you going?"
"Up to the room. I'll see you there."
The double doors opened in front of me as I walked to the lobby. I needed to sit down, and it seemed like Paige was on a phone call from what I could see. I decided just to wait. Annie was probably in the room by now anyway.

Paige's P.O.V-in the parking deck, 3:36pm

"Hello?"
"Hey Paige! It's Annie!"
"Oh hey girl! Can I talk with your mom real quick?"
"Yeah sure I'll tell her."

"Hey Paige. What's wrong?"
"It's with Hayley. We were having such a fun time at the mall though. I'm glad she came!"
"Well that's great to hear! But what happened?"
"There's something up with her.......I don't know what it is. She had a breakdown at the mall, and it wasn't like her. She kept telling me she wanted to leave, after she came back from getting a sip of water and me asking if it was ok if we could stay longer. I told her no and-"
"No that isn't like Hay at all......oh sorry! Keep going."
"So I told her I wanted to stay and we were going to. I feel bad saying that. I only wanted it my way and she really wanted to leave. I could see it in her eyes that she was getting angry. I told her one last time that we are staying and she shouted 'Paige I said I wanted TO LEAVE!'! Then after that she didn't look angry anymore. Instead she looked like she was embarrassed and sad. She started looking around because the mall went quiet. I could see her trying to hold back tears. Then, she dropped to the ground and started sobbing."
"She did? I feel so bad for not being there-"
"Katie, its fine. I helped her. But she's been-off lately. She's been so sad. Maybe you could talk to her or something?"
"Yeah of course. We're eating lunch at the restaurant by our room. I'll make sure to talk with her. Anyway, the food is here so I have to go. Oh and Jayden said hi!"
"Hi Jayden! Alright I'll talk to you later. Bye."
"Bye."
