The innocent boy with a small figure work up in glee. He knew it was his and his beloved brother Grayson's birthday. He didn't care it was also his birthday. He didn't think he was good enough to share his birthday with his younger brother. He hasn't even told him "I love you" too afraid grayson won't say the same in return.
His feet patted down the hard wood stairs and he went to the kitchen to make his brother a special breakfast. He didn't know how to cook much due to him having the mind of a third grader but he knew enough to make a simple breakfast. At least he thought.
He took out a pan to make scrambled eggs and put oil in it. He cracked the egg in it and started to mix it together. As he did so, He heard spongebob playing from the tv and ran to the living room to watch the episode leaving the eggs unattended.
About fifteen minutes later, there was smoke coming out from the kitchen. The horrid smell filled Ethan's nostrils and he looked at the eggs.
"You're so stupid ethan" He kept on saying as he tried to fan out the smoke and stop the fire. He heard feet running down the stairs and soon a shirtless Grayson ran into the kitchen. He saw what happened and grabbed the fire extinguisher and took out the fire.
He saw Ethan crying in a corner as he pulled at his hair saying "you're so stupid" to himself. Grayson's heart broke at the sight as he walked closer to the sobbing boy.
"Baby?" Grayson said kneeling down to him.
"W-why do you l-like me?" He asked looking at Grayson with red eyes "I'm so stupid. I can't even make a stupid egg right" he sobbed into his sleeve.
