"Jeremy, get your ass back here!" a boy shouted as the brown-haired male ran, a bruise coloring his face.

Suddenly, he pivoted and served the boy with a punch to the face. He stumbled back before retaliating, causing an all-out fist fight outside their high school. A little bit away sat two girls, [Y/N] and her best friend, who were often classified as good girls. They watched the fight occur until a teachers shout stopped them. Jeremy looked over at the two girls, mouthing "tonight" to [Y/N] before getting hauled inside for a talk from the teacher.

Later that day, Jeremy pulled up to [Y/N]'s house. He only had to wait a minute before [Y/N] climbed out of her window, landed softly on the grass, and ran to his car, quickly climbing in the passenger seat and asking, "River spot again?"

"Definitely," he responded.

"Awesome."

As Jeremy drove to their secluded river spot, the two of them cracked jokes and told stories. [Y/N] and Jeremy both enjoyed times like this together without the judgement from other students since Jeremy was a troublemaker while [Y/N] was a good girl.

As Jeremy parked the car, he looked over at [Y/N] with lust in his eyes. She didn't pick up on it (or at least didn't show she did) and just gave him the same soft, love-filled look she always gave him. They both exited the car and went down to their spot. At first, they laid in silence on the soft riverbank grass, but then [Y/N] asked, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

He flipped on his side. "What do you mean?"

She turned her head to face him. "I saw the look in your eyes earlier. I think you know what I mean. Besides, you've told me how you're going to marry me in the future, so I don't see the harm."

He smiled before moving closer to her and placing his lips on hers in a passionate but soft kiss. [Y/N] rolled on top of him and smiled into the kiss. They probably went a little too far, but they didn't care. They just cared about being in each others arms.

Fast forward a couple years. [Y/N] was off to college. Jeremy wanted to go with her, but he had his own life. He pulled up to her house for the last time as she was putting the last of her stuff in her car. He jumped out of his car and ran up to her.

"Hey, Jeremy," she said as she leaned on her car.

"Hey," he said. "Heading off to college today?"

"Yeah. Hoping I can find better."

"What do you mean better?"

"Just a better life in general."

"What's wrong with life here?"

"I just don't have the same opportunities here. I'm sorry, Jeremy. Maybe we'll see each other again in a few years."

He kissed her forehead. "I love you. Always."

She just gave him a half-smile. "I know you do. Now, I have to go. I want to get there at a decent time. Bye, Jeremy."

"Bye, [Y/N]."

He retreated to his car and watched as she got in her car and drove away. He threw his Lightning hat off his head and onto the passenger seat and sighed, feeling like a piece of him was missing. Eventually, he drove back to his house to get on his computer to get his mind off of her.

While she was away at college, Jeremy got a job working Monday through Friday, 9 to 5. He found another girl named Brycelyn who he dated for seven months, then it just didn't work out. She cheated on him and did some other stuff, leaving him heartbroken for a while. Through all of this, he still incredibly missed [Y/N], even though he didn't show it.
