VIII. Bandages

TRIGGER WARNING: BLOOD
Saturday, November 26

I lost consciousness in the vortex due to the loss of blood. I awoke to whiteness; a drastic change from the vibrant colors  of the portal.

White. Purity. Cleanliness. Hospital. I'm in a hospital bed.

The whiteness was broken by my lover's face.

"Hey, good morning... you feeling okay?" He asked before kissing my head.

"Yeah I'm.... Wait, morning?" I sat up, turning my attention to the window on my right. Yes, morning. It's Saturday now.

"Was I asleep for that long? How do I know I wasn't in a coma!?"

"Because I would've been crying like the wimp-ass I am," Joji smirked, "You slept for 10 hours."

"Oh... okay..." I remembered why I'm here, looking down at my arm where I expected the gash to be.

It was bandaged. There were felt stickers on it too. Hearts. That was obviously Joji's work.

"You put stickers on my bandages?"

"I wanted it to look cute, like you." Joji smiled dorkily.

This corny bitch. Corny, but cute.

"I love it. But I'm gonna need to change these eventually..."

He pouted. "What a waste of stickers... at least I have more."

"I thought this kind was reusable though..."

"Oh yeah... you're right."

I giggled and pecked his cheek. "You're the cute one."

As soon as I finished my sentence, a doctor came in to tell us the news.

"Well, (Y/N), you lost some blood, but not enough to be hospitalized for too long," She said, looking at her clipboard, then looking up at us, "I'd suggest taking some iron pills for a week though. We'll let you leave today."
She smiled.

I smiled back. "Thank you, Doctor."

"No problem! Oh, and rest today, ok? You might still be weak from the blood loss. "

I nodded in response. And with that, we headed home. However, as soon as I got into bed, things escalated.

Joji gently placed his hand on my forehead. "We've gotta do something about..."

"About...?" I looked up at him.

"About me."

My eyebrows furrowed. Joji definitely said that, but his lips didn't move. Upon realizing what happened, my heart jumped.

Joji 2 turned around to find his other half standing behind him. He was unarmed, but could still be hostile.

"Please... don't hurt me..." I begged.

"I didn't come to fight... I just..." Joji 2 sighed, looking sternly at Joji 1, "Can I talk to (Y/N)?"

"Alone? Yeah, no. I gave you a chance and you almost committed homicide."

"I just... my mind wasn't right... I didn't know how to... I couldn't control..."

"I will never leave her alone with you again. If you want to say something, I'm staying here." Joji 2 crossed his arms and stood his ground.

"Listen, (Y/N).... I'm crazy... insane even. I know that... and that tends to get out of hand when I'm with you."

Joji 2 scoffed. Joji 1 sighed and continued.

"There's just... something about you... that makes me feel... comfortable... clingy... excited... desperate... all at the same time... I-I just don't know how to handle it... please, I just... want to spend time with you..."

I sighed, rubbing my face. "Joji... I love you... both of you... but you..." I gestured to Joji 1,"Must control yourself if you're ever gonna spend time with me. I just... don't know if I'm comfortable enough to do that again... just... give me some time to rest... then we'll talk, okay?"

He nodded. "Thank you for listening at least..."

He then gave Joji 2 one more stern look before heading back through the mirror.

"You're not seriously gonna let him spend time with you right." Joji 1 put air quotes around 'spend time'."

"Joji, I just said I'm going to think about it. Can I at least recover first so I can get my mind right?"

He sighed. "You shouldn't even be considering this..."

"But he's you... if you were in his shoes, wouldn't you want me to consider too?"

That stopped him dead in his tracks.

"I'll get you those iron pills..." he mumbled before heading to the kitchen.

I wonder about the relationship between those two. And what happened to other me? This is all so weird... but I guess I'll rest before I make my head hurt from overthinking...
