TRIGGER WARNING: (SLIGHT) BLOOD
I used the utmost of my strength to hold back tears. Then, I realized that I never even took the time to take in my surroundings. But when I did, it made no difference.
The room around me bore no light, though I could see everyone in plain sight. There were no objects around besides the throne on which Amaimon sat.
The sight confused me, until I remembered that I was going to lose Joji, one way or another. My eyes teared up at the thought once more.
However, even that was interrupted by a sudden tear in the wall. What was found inside the tear, looked similar to that which could be found between the dimensions. My eyes widened as Joji 2 jumped out, screaming.
"AMAIMON!" He shouted in anger.
His face glowed red with fury, fingers wrapped around a sword of a darker hue. They ached at the contact of skin and handle, proven by the veins and the slow turn of purple. I could tell by the way he gripped it that this was no ordinary sword.
Wait... hold up... when did he have a red sword!?
His eyes flicked to look at me, softening instantly on sight. "Did he hurt you?"
He looked at the Demon Prince once more, shouting in Japanese.
The akuma waved him off, pretending to clean his fingernails. Amaimon went on and on about God knows what, but Joji wasn't having it. He let out a battle cry before jumping in the air to attack. However, the woman in front conjured a thin barrier that deflected his sword.
Joji bounced off the magical shield, landing on his back. He grunted, going into a stance before heading for the woman.
She conjured a sword from thin air before parrying her opponent. Joji growled at her, showing her his teeth before widening his eyes in shock. Something about their eye contact must've surprised him. He stepped back, lowering his weapon.
"Wh- (Y/N)!? What has he done to you!?"
My heart jumped out of my chest. M-me!? That's me from the other dimension!? She looks nothing like me!
"There's no way that's me. I look nothing like her."
Joji was about to turn his head, but jumped away from the woman's, supposedly my, attack.
"Amaimon changed your appearance to his liking... he probably found you unattractive. Sometimes when he takes someone as a minion, he changes everything. Even their gender."
I scoffed at the thought. As if I care what he thinks. Joji loves me for who I am, and he thinks I'm beautiful.
The other me took another swing at Joji.
"Come on! Fight!" (Y/N) 2 screamed.
"I'm not fighting you! What would happen if I killed you?" Joji replied.
(Y/N) 2 smirked. "I'm not afraid to die. But if you fear for that one's life" They said, pointing at me. "It'll put you at a disadvantage."
(Y/N) 2 tried to jab at Joji, but he saw through the attempt and backflipped away.
"Go Joji! You got this, baby!" I said, trying to pull my arms out of one henchman's grip.
"Stop." The taller one said. "You aren't getting away."
"Are you sure about that?" I looked over at him before spitting in his eye.
"Okay, you're rude." He said, closing an eye. He knew better than to wipe it off.
"Damn, you're a smart one." I turned to look at the stout one. "What about you?"
"What about me?" He replied.
"Can you touch your head and rub your belly?" I asked.
"How dare you assume my intelligence, wench!" He retorted.
"Well, fuck. I guess I'm in a bind." I said, looking to Joji once more.
He was doing well dodging her attacks. Or so I thought, before I noticed the gash in his right shoulder.
Amaimon chuckled at the sight, his eyes continuing to ooze blood from their sockets.
Of course, I can't really understand Japanese, so I don't know what he said, but I can assume he was amused by something.Joji decided that rather than try to dodge (Y/N) 2, he would try to free me instead. He caught the stout man by surprise as he cut his chest. He cried out in pain as he let go, allowing me to punch the other man in the nose so that I could be free.
"Quick, go through the portal. I'll close it behind you." Joji whispered.
"But what about you?" I frowned.
"Go! There's no time to answer that!" He said before parrying (Y/N) 2's attack. One that would've been from behind had Joji not sensed it in the first place.
I ran to the portal as fast as I could, jumping in and just missing Amaimon's grasp. As the portal closed, I saw his face grow angrier with each second. I turned to the other side of the portal so that I could go home, but when I did, I saw no openings.
I shrieked, turning back to where the other opening once was. But that too had disappeared.
I was trapped... between worlds... and no one else knows but me.
A/N: THANK YOU BABIES!!! This story reached 2k reads! I'm shocked! I never imagined I'd have a story this popular ever! Also, I'm hoping to have that Q&A as an intermission since a couple of you are interested. So if you have a question, leave it in this chapter! If I have enough I'll definitely answer them in the next intermission. If not, it could be a flashback, or maybe even an art appreciation post? I've gotten some fanart for this story so I could do that too. If you guys have any fanart to show to all of us, feel free to message it to me! That's all for now sweethearts, until next chapter! 💜
