I would be lying if said he didn't make my womanhood tremble. Toni and I sat at the table near the pool tables watching the boys play a few rounds.
Eight-ball was Sweet Pea's favorite game to play, he knew he was a beast at it. I watched as his biceps flexed underneath his checkered flannel as he hit the cue ball towards his assigned ball.
"So what's going on with you and Sweets?" Topaz asks taking a sip out of her drink.
"W-what?" I stammer taken back by what she said, turning my attention towards her. She was leaning back with the cup up to her lips, yet a smirk was hiding behind it.
"You heard me, you two are practically drooling one over the other." Toni laughs at my crimson red cheeks.
Sweet Pea and I discussed it was best to keep our relationship, or friendship should I say, private. At least till we know what's going on ourselves.
"Nothing." I lie, turning back to the boys who were playing pool across us. "I'm not interested."
"Is that so? Great!" Toni smirks, "There's a few boys lined up dying to get a chance with the one and only, Elyse Pierce."
"Once again, I'm not interested." I say shrugging my shoulders.
"Yes!" Sweet Pea howls in victory, he once again beat the boys at eight-ball. Fangs and Tall Boy throw their cue sticks on the table in defeat.
Fogarty and Sweet Pea walk towards us and taking a seat at our table. "What were you two ladies talking about?" Sweet Pea asks taking a big gulp of my water bottle.
"Hey! Can you not?" I question darting my eyes at him.
"Thanks princess" Sweet Pea winks, handing back a half empty bottle.
Sweet Pea was a natural flirt, no matter how hard he tried to act 'tolerable' he couldn't help it.
"There's a few boys lined up dying to take Elyse on a date." Toni says nonchalantly, I felt the boy sitting next to me stiffen.
"Yet, I said I wasn't interested." I place my hand on his knee underneath the table reassuring him. "I've got my eye on someone else."
"Who?" Fogarty and Topaz question in union, eyeing me suspiciously.
"Yeah, Who?" Sweet Pea crosses his arms against his chest with an arched brow.
"Oh some boy from the Northside." I say in a calm manner.
"Why am I not surprised." Sweet Pea scoffs in 'disgust', yet we both knew it was him.
"Oh no, not again." Fangs mumbles placing his fingers on the bridge of his nose. "I thought you the two fixed things."
"We did, doesn't mean we have to agree with everything." I hiss towards Sweet Pea's direction.
"I'm not buying it." Toni says observing the distance between the Sweet Pea and I. "Something's going on, I just can't put my finger on it."
The table that held our drinks vibrates startling us four, it was my phone, I immediately answered the call not checking the Caller ID.
"Hello?" I say as the three serpents who sat across me formed a new conversation.
"Hello Elyse. This is the Black Hood speaking. I know all about your mothers affair." A monotone voice spoke on the other end of the phone.
Have you ever been told he worst news of your life and felt your heart drop that exact moment. Chills running up your spin, goosebumps all over your skin.
"What do you want?" I grab my coat and walk out the Whyte Wyrm.
"To cleanse Riverdale of it's sinners. I know all about the sins that occurred in California." The Black Hood spoke. "You thought you could run away and leave it all behind? All it takes is one click and everyone in Riverdale will know about your past."
I didn't even realize I found myself running. Running where you may ask? I have no clue myself.
"You can run, but you can't hide. When you protect the past, you lose the future." The call ends.
"Im okay. Everything's okay. I'm okay. Everything's okay." I repeat over and over till I realized I wasn't. My anxiety was kicking in, I felt my body become numb, cold. I was suddenly starring at the gloomy sky.
"Elyse? Elyse!" Familiar voices shout running towards my direction. Sweet Pea gently grabs one arm as Fangs grabs the other lifting me up.
"Elyse, can you hear me?" Toni snaps her fingers in my face.
"Yeah." Is all I managed to say starring into thin air.
"What happened? Who called you?" Toni questions placing her hands on my shoulders. I remained silent.
"It doesn't matter. It's too late." I shove them away running away once again. I called the one and only person I promised myself I wouldn't run back too.
"Hello?"
"Someone knows! They know." I sob slamming the door shut behind me, I was now safe. At least I thought I was.
"Who knows?"
I scream in terror at the sight in front of me, there he was waiting. The back of his head was enough for me to disguise it wasn't my father. It's not possible, no it isn't. I drop my phone and run out the trailer to collide with someone.
