No amount of guilt can change the past, and no amount of worrying can change the future. Go easy on yourself, for the outcome of all affairs is determined by ALLAH's decree. If something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come your way. But if it is yours by destiny, from it you cannot flee.

Unknown POV:

Today was my first day of school. It was, I guess, okay. We introduced ourselves and then every hour a new teacher came into the classroom. But mom said that I am always going to miss it. Grandma said that once I grow up, I'll forget it. That is why she is making me write this diary. I told mom that she should have written a diary too so she'd reminisce dad. Grandma smiled and mom just remained silent.

One new thing I learned today was a color named lilac. Maddy is wearing a lilac colored dress. It rained in school and we played in mud. Mom likes everything clean so she shrieked on our way back home. But grandma thinks that rules are made to be broken. So, I can keep on getting dirty.

Madilyn: Do you want to write anything else?

Me: I don't remember anything.

Madilyn: Really, nothing at all.

Me: Nope.

Madilyn: Really? You sure?

Me: yeah ...ummm.... I don't know.

Madilyn: ARE YOU 100% SURE?

Me: Yass...... Nooo. I remember something.

Madilyn: Here we go again.

My best friend Peter has a small sister. Her parents got her from the hospital a week ago. She is really small. Even smaller than a puppy. She sleeps all day. I hate to admit but I am jealous of peter. I ran to mom after school to tell her that we need to go to the hospital to get my sister from there. Madilyn was jealous of me so she started laughing. She laughed so much that tears were running on her cheeks.

"Minha! Minha! Where are you yar?" Waliyah was screaming like a maniac in the lounge. On the other hand, Minha was sleeping like a baby. Her sleep had always been intense. All of her family used to make fun of her because of that. Her younger brother, Abad, once wrote Sleeping Beauty on all of her notebooks.

"It's 2:00 pm Minha. For God's sake, wake up." Waliyah yelled while opening the windows of her room. Minha rubbed her eyes and hissed due to sharp light. "Good Morning to you too, witch", Minha said, covering her eyes with the duvet. Waliyah sighed and pulled the comforter from her head. Now, it was Minha's turn to yelp, "Yyyyaaaarrr". "Get up, we are going to Maria's birthday", Waliyah stated. Minha sat up and looked at her windows. "I don't want to go'', she sighed. "I know Minha you are feeling down but this will be a great change."

Minha and Waliyah became friends in eighth grade. Although they had clashing personalities, they still understood each other very well. After school, Waliyah opted for biology while Minha got into mathematics. Even though, they went to different colleges, their friendship was still as strong as day one.

"I know I shouldn't be a coward but...", Minha left her sentence uncomplete. "Minha, everyone is taking about you because you have shut yourself up. If you go now, people will stop talking about these useless rumors. And I think you shouldn't bother about their babbling." Minha contemplated whether to go or no. Then, she remembered her brothers' words. She took a deep breath. "Okay, I will go".

After one hour, both of the girls were ready. Minha wore a light green colored maxi with golden border and golden silk dupatta. She wore her usual mascara and kajal, highlighted her cheekbones and chin and completed the look with a nude lip. Waliyah always hated makeup. Minha was a pro at this so she gave her a winged eyeliner and pink lipstick that complimented her peach gown. When they were ready, they sauntered downstairs to meet Waliyah's mom. As soon as they entered the room, Minha's mother mumbled MashaAllah and smiled gently at the girls. After the usual exchange of greetings, they sat in the car to go to Maria's house. Waliyah squeezed her hand and assured her that everything will be alright.
