Blurred

He lay motionless in bed to awake to another lorn day

It felt like another drunken stupor,

Thought of her and why she'd left,

Was it because of him?

Dancing to their shadows in his head,

In the very arms where she claimed gave her comfort,

He would dream of holding her for hours on end,

But soon the images would dissipate in a flash,

It was like the rain just as it hit the ground.

She showed no mercy to his agonizing heart and soul.

He was tired of the ghosts that haunted him day and night

In his dreams, she would arise only to grow a pair of wings and leave

But one day all the yearning came to an end

And he too found the courage to leave their memories behind.
