Memories of Love

You became my ray of sunshine in a dark world,

Where there was only pain and heartbreak,

You filled it to the brim with your stardust soul,

Shone light all around like a trail of gold,

You loved the parts of me that no one understood, and for that i am grateful

We became each other's peace with all our blemishes and scars,

Though our pasts were gloomy, we could face the future together, side by side

My waking sunrise, my everlasting sorrow

You left quietly yet so loudly, it had me gasping and wishing it was just a dream

I could not imagine watching the sunsets without you by my side,

Or hearing your dulcet voice that could lull me to sleep,

Enveloped in your warm embrace to make me forget my fears,

You had to go to a land yonder as i ponder why you left so soon,

I picture you smiling as you take my hand saying it will be alright, that my heart will stop hurting

Truth is, I could never forget nor replace you, you're the best thing i ever had.
