What's with these homies who be dissin' my boy?
You're forced to stand next to Mare as Maven makes his speech. Mare is clenching her fists, wanting to do something to prevent his words. She does nothing. And that's good. Whenever you look at Maven you think of how all mighty he is to everybody else. You can see who he truly is. You believe in him. But that's not important. You don't truly believe in him.
Do they know I'm aggravated with the negativity and the noise?
Sometimes you wish it would be easier to get close to Maven. But lately, or always, he pushes people away. It's sad for you to think that one day you won't be able to talk to his true self. Maven just needs to calm down, and then someday, you'll be able to be with him. That's what you promise yourself.
Standing next to Mare is hard, it's always been hard. You can practically feel her disgusting red blood pulsating. She just gives off a bad energy. You wish her to die.
They tell me "find a wealthy man," but they don't seem too happy
As a common silver, your family said to find a highhouse member to be with. They condoned you to manipulate somebody to gain a relationship with. And you did. But when you started looking at Maven, reaching higher, they insulted you. What's so wrong with wanting the king? He seems so easy...
Am I naïve to think that he could be the love of my life?
Even though being with him benefits you greatly, he can be a complete comfort. You don't like the man you are with, no matter how strong he may be. You love thought of Maven holding onto you and never letting go.
Even as you think this, you also believe he's pathetic. He's a worthless king and you hate him for that. You love him yet you hate him. It's so hard.
There is a voice inside my head that's tellin' me that it's right
You follow Maven all of the places you can. Samson, your husband, stays behind with a knowing thought. He finds all of this funny. You can't even consider looking him in the eyes when he smiles at you. He's so pathetic. Maven is way better.
I never thought I'd tell him how scared I am of losing him
You, standing next to Maven, are his partner in crime. You help him do a lot of things and give him some strategies for attacking. Whenever he works on his own you dread for your replacement. What if one day he won't need you anymore?
"Are you okay?" You ask him, crossing your arms as you lean against the wall. You look down at him as he writes a letter to whomever. He nods his head, thinking about how stupid the question is. He doesn't look in despair or anger. You were just making sure he's alright.
"Are you going to ask for my removal?" You follow that up. Maven stops writing. Removing you? How could he? You are the smartest person he knows.
You're the only one who's making me come
To my sinful sensesYou created him to be a dark commander, and that's how you like it. Maven knows strategies for things he didn't even know existed. You help him in more ways than you know. Remove you? Never. He hates the thought of it.
You feel like a god in the presence of Maven. You love teaching somebody less knowledgeable than you. You teach Maven how horrible a human being can be. You being the human beings, of course. He's worthless without you.
"No." Maven states calmly. He obviously doesn't want to make conversation.
After you go quiet, Maven looks up at you.
I'll never love anyone the same
The look in your eyes stirs something inside of him. It's like staring at an assassin. You're so dangerous, yet so soft whenever you're near him.
You look away, trying not to blush.
"(Y/N)," he says. You look at him. He looks into your eyes. He looks so sensitive, so soft. It's only you two. It's so quiet.
Seeing him like that makes you smile a way you've never smiled before.
I'll never feel ashamed of using you for pleasure
Everything was all worth it. In this moment, life is peaceful.
"Yes," you respond as you walk closer to him. He puts his pen down and stands up, leaving you standing still.
Until he put me in my place and showed me how to enjoy myself
He up to you and leans on his desk. He's relaxed. You've died for this so you relax too. This is all you've ever wanted. Relaxing with him like this is so nice. You two just look at each other, thinking that same thing. I love you.
I love you and I hate you and I'm losing my mind
You're the first one to break eye contact. This is so pathetic. You've fallen for a worthless king. Well... you love him, right? This isn't just you trying to get with him for the power, right? Do you really love him? Or are you just convincing yourself you do?
You bite your lip. This is so hard.
We're such a mess together, you make me lose my temper
"What do you want?" You ask Maven as you shift in your position. You rest your weight on one leg as your eyes make their way back to his. He exhales through his nose.
"I just want someone to help me with my decisions." He answers. You run your tongue over your teeth as you hold out your hand. This movement mimics a deal, quid-pro-quo. You wait for Maven to shake your hand.
Someday we'll both be older
I wonder if we'll be together looking back on the pastEventually, he does. And it feels good. I am a business partner, that's all I'll ever be.
You look Maven in the eyes one last time. His beautiful grin confirms your previous thoughts. Yes, you love Maven. But...
I love you in the worst way
