Let Me Love You {Juuzou Suzuya}

I sighed. I was kinda hoping he would forget about that. That stinks.

"I'm not worried about you telling, Juuzou. I'm worried about you knowing."

"I won't judge you, I swear! I'll still love you!"

You decided not to comment on those last four words. "Fine."

He scooted closer, putting his elbows on the pillow in his lap and his head in his hands. His eyes widened with curiosity.

"What I wrote was: 'Suzuya Juuzou'."

He smirked and glomped me. "Yay! Now we're best friends forever!"

"Juuzou, I still don't like you."

He stopped moving and looked deep into my eyes. "What...? You dislike me?"

I looked away. "No, I'm just neutral. I probably wrote your name just so that I could learn to spell it or something. We're not even friends."
I knew this probably wasn't true, but I refuse to let myself get too attached.

He started crying. "How?! How can I make you like me?! I'll do anything!"

I grabbed his arms and scooted closer. "Juuzou... It's not because of you. I'm just a horrible person."

"No! You're not! You're just broken! But I can help you!"

"Juuzou, you really can't."

"Let's share our thoughts with each other! Let me be the one person you care about, and I promise I won't die! Put your trust in me! I won't let you down!"

My eyes started to fill with tears. Not because he was being annoying or rude, but because I was considering his offer.

Could I possibly let my walls down just for him? Could he be the one thing I would actually be attached to?

"Juuzou, you... can't promise that. No one can swear that they'll stay forever (even if her face don't stay together! Lol, Melanie Martinez joke). Juuzou, please don't lie to me. You can't possibly care that much. I'm sorry, but I can't let you into my heart. I fear you may damage me even more if I do." I got up and walked to the door.

I needed to get some fresh air.

But Juuzou grabbed my hand and pulled me right back into his arms. "I refuse to let you go." He said. "Listen to me..."

I started to cry again.

"I will never hurt you. I will stay by your side whenever you need me. Let me be your friend! I, Juuzou Suzuya, vow to defend you! Even at the cost of my life!"

I shrunk down to my knees, still holding Juuzou's hand. "I... believe you." I said, still crying. "I'll be your friend."

He smiled and hugged me. I guess he's allowed to do that now. "Yay! Now I get to keep you for the rest of my life!" He said.

I laughed. "Until, of course, you get married and have kids and have no time for me." I said, saddened.

Wow, I was sad. I guess Juuzou really could control my feelings now.

He shook his head. "Then I'll just have to marry you!" He shrieked.

I blushed. "Juuzou, that's weird..."

"And I can't have kids anyway, so what's the point?"

"You... what?" I was slightly confused.

He giggled. "It's nothing, really! Now let's go out to eat, new best friend!"

I nodded, letting the previous topic go. I probably didn't want to know anyways.
