The 8th Deadly Sin

The New Sin

After the betrayal of Pride, a top knight and guard of the king of Greyhaul. The other sins had to decide on a new sin to take his place. Pride however took his hilt meaning there couldn't be a new pride.

Wrath, Lust, and Envy wanted to use the sin of Truth as it was never used, and they were already looking for a candidate. Yet Greed, Gluttony, and Sloth wanted a sin of Sorrow, since they would have an easier time finding it's candidate. They went down to the weapons gallery of the castle to see if their were any more hilts to use.

There were 10 holders, or cabinets, for the hilts. There were 7 already with no weapon, and 1 was still locked by magic. They looked at the Truth, and Sorrow cabinets.

The Sorrow hilt was broken, and it would need to be repaired by a blacksmith magician, which would be hard to find since there were only 10 left in the world, the last time they checked. They went with the hilt of Truth, a wizard's staff with the sign of the Owl on it. They set out for the town of wizards, Stregone.

It took them 2 days on foot to get from the capital to Stregone. Once they entered the town the could see that it was full of magic. Wrath ordered Greed and Sloth to guard the town's Northern entrance, while he ordered Envy and Gluttony to guard the south entrance.

He didn't want any distractions, not even a full on war, to disturb the process of choosing a new candidate. He sent Lust to check the outskirts to find a candidate, as he went to check the main square. As Lust was checking the outskirts of the town see saw something extraordinary.

There was a little girl no more than 11 years of age practicing legendary ranked magic right outside her house. The only thing Lust could think was that she must be a prodigy. Lust walked up to the child and asked her name.

The girl said "I don't now my name, I was never given one, but people always called me Schola." Schola followed up with "I was never given a name, because my mother died in child birth, and my father died in the war before I was born." Lust said "follow me if you pass a test my friend is putting on we'll give you a name, and a family."

Schola followed Lust into the main square were they met up with Wrath, and his candidate. Wrath's candidate looked like a top scholar who was probably in his late teens. Wrath wanted to get done with the test as soon as it started.

He put the staff on the ground and said "if you can hold this without getting marked with the malum circle then you are in. Oh and before you ask the malum circle on a mortal's body will sap away every ounce of power in your body, and will leave you defenseless the rest of your life.

the scholar immediately picked it up without hesitation. Then he fell to his knees and looked exhausted. On his hand was a malum circle. Then Schola went over to pick it up.

When she lifted it up off of the ground the staff started glowing a blinding gold color. Then under his breath Wrath said "we found Truth." Then out loud he said "welcome to the sins Truth, we've been waiting for you!"
