Max: We were quite a ways behind the rest, I believe they were royals, I can't be certain of that, Arthur and I were behind them, when Arthur asked "so Max, what about you?". I was puzzled, why would this hero want to hear about an antisocial child like myself? So I asked "what about me?" Arthur chuckled "what about you Max?" I sighed "what would you like to know about me, I thought I was pretty open as it is". Arthur chuckled yet again and asked "your age, what you've been doing before we found you, why you despise other people, all of that". I sighed again "I'm nearing 999 years old, in a month or two I'll be 999 years old, and somehow fresh faced, I've just been on my own, trying to stay out of the way, tell me why someone like you would be interested in such an antisocial creature like me". Arthur made an over-dramatic gasp and said "don't say that stuff Max! You're the most interesting person I've met, you've got so much to say, and no one to tell it to, I know it, it's true, isn't it?". It was more than true, it was dead right, I wanted someone for so long to listen to me, to hear my voice, so I could clear up my thoughts. I nodded and whispered "yeah... Yeah" he hugged me and said "you don't need to be so alone Max, I understand you, I do". I shook my head and said "I really wish you did Arthur, but you don't, you just don't and that's a good thing". The last part came out a bit bitter, Arthur put his hand on my shoulder but I shrugged him off and walked a little bit faster.
