Chapter 43.
Laurel's POV
That night Hunter explained to my parents what was going on while I was in the shower. They were horrified to say the least. They knew it happened the first time, but never thought I would go back.
When Hunter came up to my room that night there was no comments from anyone. Even Jake kept his mouth shut for once in his life. My dad even said, "Good night, bud" as Hunter walked up the stairs. I think they realized that at that point, he was the only one getting anywhere with me and that I needed him more than they needed to sold Hunter for being four years older than me.
So that night I slept with my head on Hunter's chest listening to the rhythmic beating of his heart and staring at his soft and gentle face. The combination made me fall in love all over agin.
I didn't dream about a chocolate bunny terrorized gummy world that night, I just dreamed about happiness, and realized how close to it I actually was.

"Laurel," I heard Hunter sing. My eyes were still closed but I could hear everything he said. "Your mom made pancakes..." My eyes dated open and looked over to find his face right next to mine. He kissed my nose and rolled off of the bed. "I knew that would get you up," He said.
"Wait. There isn't pancakes?" I asked sadly.
"No there isn't pancakes," He said solemnly. "There's chocolate chip pancakes. I smiled and grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the room and down the stairs with him laughing behind me.
We made it downstairs and he was still chuckling. On the counter in the kitchen there was a note laid out which read:
Good morning you two. Have fun today, but not too much fun. -Mom (or if you're Hunter, -Laurel's Mom)
My mom's fancy script was all over the plain sheet of notebook paper and I smiled knowing that she cared. But then I saw the P.S at the bottom:
Laurel, you're going to school tomorrow. Finish off senior year right.
I sighed and turned toward Hunter who was grabbing the orange juice out of the fridge. Glad to know he already felt at home.
"I have to go to school tomorrow," I said as I sat down at the table. He came over with his glass of orange juice and sat next to me.
"You have less than two weeks before graduation. I think you can make it," he replied.
"I still have go figure out where I'm going in the fall."
"What are your options again?" He asked.
"UCLA or Tennessee State University," I said. I decided that I was awake enough for food and went over to the counter to put some chocolate chip pancakes on my plate.
"I'm not trying to change your mind or anything, but you would be in the same state as me if you went to TSU."
I didn't think about that before. He would be near me when he wasn't on tour. I could see him whenever I wanted and wouldn't have to make him fly all of the way out here.
"That's a good point," I said. "But I didn't get as much financial aid at TSU." My parents would have to stretch money pretty far, and I would have to take out a student loan.
Then, it was like a lightbulb went off inside of Hunter's head. "You could just live with me!" The smile on his face was adorable and I couldn't help but smile back. "Live off campus and then you wouldn't have to pay for housing."
"Hunter, you are a freaking genius!" I abandoned my pancakes and wrapped him in a giant hug.
"So is that a yes?" He asked.
"If my parent's are okay with it."
If they weren't okay with it, I would never be able to do it. Ever.
He nodded in agreement and said, "I'm going to call the guys so we can do something," and he ran off to the living room to get his phone.

"HUNTER!" I called behind me. "PICK UP THE PACE". We were currently on a hike and Hunter fell far behind me. We hiked up a gentle slope that was paved in lush green grass and dotted with meadow flowers.
"IT'S NOT JUST ME!" I stopped and turned around and saw all of my companions far behind me. We all had backpacks on our shoulders and some of us (Katherine) were sweating like monsters even though it was less than 70 degrees out. It was actually quite chilly for a day in late May.
"SAM, STEVE, MATT, ANDY, DEVO, KATHERINE AND HUNTER PICK UP THE PACE" I yelled like I was coaching them.
All I got in reply was groans and that made me walk even faster to force them to speed up or get lost. Looking back, I was being pretty evil.
Once I got to the top I found a grassy spot to sit down and waited about 7 minutes for the rest of them to come trailing in.
Hunter plopped down next to me and said in between breaths: "How. Are. You. So. Good. At. This."
I shrugged and said, "How are you not good at this Mister I jump around for two hours every show?"
He took a sip of his water and said, "Elevation, my love. Elevation."
Everyone else sat a few yards behind us so we had some privacy. I leaned my head on his shoulder and we just stared at the view we had. It was of a taller mountain that we refused to climb. It was green and dotted with flowers in all colors. The sun was peaking behind it casting a shadow in front of the trees. It was absolutely breathtaking.
Then I remembered something and I snapped out of my daydream. "I almost forgot to ask you," I said. "Do you want to come to VidCon with me?"
"You want to go still?" He asked.
I nodded and he wrapped his arms tighter around me. "Anything for you, Laur."
We sat there taking in the beauty of nature...and listening to our friends yell at each other about the lack of snacks.
