Chapter 15

After going on a couple of rides, I checked the time and it was 4:30pm.

"OK it's time to go home" I got up from the bench

The kids groaned but Kyle came up to me. "what about but one ride on the ferris wheel then we go" he suggested and the kids cheered

"What are you doing? it's almost time for dinner and I have work to do" I whispered

"You need to loosen up some more and have fun" he said

We got on the Ferris wheel the twins were looking out the window with glee as we went up

"It's cool right?" Kyle laughs

"Yeah!!" they yelled and started to point things out

"How are you feeling?" he turned to me with a friendly face

"Stop"

"Stop what?"

"Stop trying to be friendly and get to know me as if I forgave you for what you did to me at the club"

"I just want to get to know the twins and spend some time with them" he reasoned

I looked directly at his dark brown eyes "you want to know what I feel when I think or see you? drowning, I feel like I cant breathe and you keep pulling me down further" I choked but kept my voice low that the kids won't hear

"Heather, why you didn't call the police that night?" he asked

I thought about it for a moment but my mind was just blank "I don't know. I don't know if it was my mind or heart telling me not to but I don't know..."

"You want to know what's funny but really messed up?" he gave me a small smile "I don't know why I wanted to 'make love' with you that night... I just felt like it in my heart" then his smile faded and was waiting for my reaction.

He did it because he felt like it!

I anxiously tapped my foot before we got out and I gently grabbed the kids hands. unbelievable I thought as we quickly walked out of the carnival followed by Kyle.

"Mom what about Uncle Kyle?" Adrian asks as I settled them in the car but I didn't answered and closed the door

"Wait Heather! What I was trying to say was-" he stopped to catch his breath "I like and care about you"

I blinked at him with a blank face and got in the car then drove off...

The next day I slept in and it was Sunday. unfortunately, the twins doesn't understand the term lazy Sunday as the continually jump on my bed.

I peeked to look out and two smiley angelic devils on top of me.

"Hi Mommy" Alexis giggled

"Where are we going today?" Adrian jumped on me

"No where it's Sunday, but we can still have fun at home"

"Like what?"

"Umm... We can bake a cake!" I smiled at their confused faces.

"That sounds boring..."

"OK how about... Swimming! I can teach you how to swim" I suggested and they agreed with that idea "grab your swimming suits from your closet so I can help you put them on after I take a shower " I grabbed my towel and left.

A moment later, I opened the door to our backyard revealing a huge pool with a bar and a couple of floating pool objects.

"OK now these will help you stay above water so you won't drown" I said while I put arm floats on their arms. they quickly jumped in the water and I followed them making sure the didn't go to the deep part of the pool.

"Looking I'm floating!" Adrian yelled while laying on the pool.

"Me too!"

"That's good now kick your feet and give me your hands" I said to Alexis as she did what I told her and we took a lap around the pool "great job Alex Adrian its your turn"

"Miss Valentine" Iris called "there's a gift for you"

"I'll be right there" I turned to the twins "I'll be right back"

Iris gave me a basket with a moving blanket, the blanket revealed a husky puppy with a note around his neck.

Heather, I'm sorry of what I said yesterday and I really want to make it up to you so I hope you except this peace offering. also I really meant about what I said about how I feel about you...

From Kyle

"Is that a puppy?!" Alex asked excitingly.

"Yeah what do you want to name him?" I set him down.

"Um.." they looked at each other then to me "Barry!"

"From the show?" I asked and they nodded as they were petting Barry.

Well Kyle I don't know when I'll accept your apology but thanks for the puppy....
