Chapter Five

Matt

Matt dropped down into a hole, wherever it lead he didn't care. All he wanted to do was escape.
He approached a lantern that was placed on a table. He pulled out his Zippo lighter and lit it.

"Okay, let's go," he says turning around.
The moment he turned around he saw a shovel coming at him. He grabbed it before it could hit him, he realized that it was Jessica who swung at him. She was all bruised up and cut, she had gotten it the worst out of everybody.

"Jesus Christ, Jess. What the hell happened to you!"
"I don't know," she muttered.
She had a large gash on her chest, her hands were cut aswell.
Her coat and shirt were both ripped.

"Here, take my letterman jacket," Matt says putting it on her.
"Thanks, but we need to get out of here, now!" She says.

They walked in the mines when they heard a screech. The same one Sean heard.

"Shit, Jess c'mon let's hide."
Matt and Jessica hid behind some boards until they saw the horrible creature. It was dragging Sean across the floor. He was barely awake, but could see Matt and Jess. He stuck his hand out as a sign of help.

"Jess, get out of here. I'll go get Sean."
"No Matt! It's too dangerous!" She says grabbing his arm.
"I'm not letting another person die," he says pulling away from her.
"Please be careful, Matt."
"Don't you worry about me," he says.

Matt follows the creature, making sure not to be spotted.
They reach an area with a huge amount of meat hooks, all of them bloody. Matt knew Sean was going to be on one if he didn't help. So he grabbed a lead pipe and revealed himself.

"Hey! Fatty over here!" He yells hitting the monster.
It let out the same screech and pounces on Matt. It holds up it's claw, but jumps off when a beam of fire shoots at it.

Jeremy and Mike

"Okay so. We need to get the key to open the door," Mike says.
"Yes, but the psychos more than like have it," Sam says.
"Okay, Sam you stay with Ash and Emily. Mike and I will go get the key," Jeremy says.
"Okay," she says.

Mike and Jay wonder around the old, run down area. It looked like a hotel of sorts. Each step they took they could hear the old creaky house boards.

"Where do you think they could be?' Mike asks.
"Best bet, the basement," Jeremy says looking down the stairs leading to it.
"Well, if I die. Tell my WiFi I love it," Mike says smiling.
"Yeah if I don't die with you," Jeremy says.

They walk down the stone stairs, Jeremy trips over one of the broken stairs, cutting hair forehead.
"Shit, you okay?" Mike asks helping him up.
"Yeah, it's just a cut," he says rubbing it.

Thy get to the bottom, to see both psychos, talking.
"What do you mean he escaped?!" One says.
"I couldn't catch him! You let the girl slip away too!"
"She fell down a fucking elevator shaft! She's probably dead."
One walks off as the other sits down in a chair and starts to doze off.

"Now's our chance!" Jeremy whispers.
He sneaks around to the psycho's belt, luckily he's the one with the key. He goes in, and reaches. Jeremy just barely gets the key off of the belt. He sneaks away but hears footsteps. His eyes widen as it sees him. He turns to see. Ryan.

Matt and Sean

Matt looks up and sees a large man welding flamethrower.
He helps Matt up.
"Thank you," Matt says.
"No thank you, you lead me right to that creature!" The man says getting Sean up.

Sean's face was white with fear, he was still barely awake. And his head was bleeding from being thrown against the tree.
"I'll take him," Matt says.
"Okay, my name's Victor by the way," he says.
"I'm Matt. This is Sean."
The two share a handshake.

The same loud screech is heard.

"Shit, here take these," Victor says handing Matt a flare gun and a flare stick. "Get the hell out of here!"
Matt runs to a slope, the only way out.

"Okay Sean, you gotta work with me!" Matt says going down the dirt slope.
"I'm trying, Matt," he mutters.
"C'mon man, if we get out. I'll get you a case of Jack Daniels, and even some ranch sauce!" Matt says trying to motivate him.

Sean instantly gets up, he has determination in his eyes now.
"Let's go then!" He says, now on his own two feet.
"Wow that worked?' Matt says to himself.

That run to an elevator, and push the lever up. As it starts to move, they see the creature coming after them.
"Shit! Let's go elevator!" Sean says.
It reaches the top and that bolt it away. Matt pulls down a chain, making a ton of huge rocks fall down. This slows the monster down. They get in a conveyer belt and ride to the top.

A rock crusher lies on the edge of the machine, which Matt jumps over just fine. Sean stumble and almost falls in. He grabs onto the ledge and manages to climb up just in time.
"Shit that was close!" He says climbing up.

The monster emerges from the shadows. It takes a glance at Matt as he pulls out the flare gun and takes a shot. It runs away and Matt and Sean make their escape through a gate. Inside they find a zip line. Matt grabs one side and Sean grabs the other. They rude away to safety and escape.

"Okay Matt, where's my Jack Daniels and ranch sauce?" Sean asks.
"I'll get it later," Matt says smiling.

As they landed down, Matt saw a figure. It was Jessica, she'd escaped and made her way down the mountain.

"Jess!" Matt says hugging her.
"Thank God! Matt I thought the worst had happened!" She says tearing up.

Her tears quickly went away as she kissed Matt on the lips, his eyes widening.

"Jess, what about Mike?"
"I don't need him. What about Emily?"
"Um I uh. Oh fuck it," he says.
"Okay, enough cheating. We need to get back to the lodge!" Sean says walking in the direction of the structure.

Jeremy, Mike and Ryan

Ryan makes his way to Jeremy and Mike. Every step he takes us as quiet as a mouse. They sneak away out of room, with a sigh of relief.

"Christ Ryan, where have you been?" Mike asks.
"That didn't catch me, I escaped into that room," he says.
"Okay well, good job but let's get Ash and Emily out if the cell," Jay says.

They get back to the cell, Sam was waiting with a worried expression.
"There you are," she says. "Ryan you're alive!"
"Course I am," he says.

Jeremy opens the cell door, and Ashley and Emily jump out like puppies.
