Chapter Six

Karen

"Karen? Karen?" She heard.
She woke up to see Chris, he had a scraped up arm and a bandage over his left eye.

"Chris!" What happened to you?"
"One of those psychos cut the towers cord and made it fall."
"What about Matt?"
"He made it off before it fell. That doesn't matter, we need to find a way out of these mines."

Chris picked Karen up, as she could barely walk. And carried her to a room.

"Oh sick! A shotgun!" Chris says picking it up.
"You use that point to shoot, okay?" Karen says.
"I know how to use a shotgun," he says confused.
"No you don't," she says mocking him.
"Whatever," he says in an Emily accent.

They walk over to a corner that has all sorts of equipment in it.
Chris finds a gas mask, pick axe and even bones.

"What the hell?" Chris says.
"They must've been mining down here," Karen says.
"But why would there be skulls then?" He asks.
"Maybe there was a cave in, or something," she responds.
"Maybe. But we need to find an escape route, maybe through that door?"

They walk through and see a large man with a flamethrower.
Chris gets behind a wall, hiding from him. It doesn't work however, as he spots Chris in a matter of minutes.

"Shit! We don't want any trouble dude! Please don't hurt us!" Chris pleads.
"Relax, I already saved one of your friends," Victor says.
"Who?" Karen asks looking up.
"Matt and Sean," he responds.
"Sean's alive? Thank God!" She says excitedly.
"Do you know how they got out?" Chris asks.
"Nope, but I can get you out of here myself."
"Okay, let's go!" Karen says pushing Chris.

Matt, Jess and Sean

"Fuck it's cold!" Sean says.
"Sean, I have a fucking short sleeve shirt on!" Matt says.
"Well that's your fault," Jess says hugging his letterman jacket he gave her.
"Okay, that's true," he says with a sigh of defeat.
They hear a loud screech coming from nearby.

"We're literally like fifteen feet from the lodge come on!" Sean says disappointed.
"Okay then, let's run those fifteen feet!" Matt says.

Chris, Karen and Victor

Victor lead Chris and Karen both to and entrance out of the mines. The outside was ten times colder than before. But Chris didn't mind, he just wanted to get back to the lodge and hopefully find Ashley. Instead, Victor told them not to move.
"Don't move, be very quiet," he whispers.

Chris tries his best, but steps on a branch and snaps it.

"Go. Run. Now. Now!" Victor yells.
Chris runs and sees the creature as Victor shoots flames at it.
"Holy shit! What the fuck?"
"Back. Back!" Victor yells.
"God damn!" Karen says.
"We're right out in the open, we gotta get out of here!" Victor says as the monster jumps for him.

Chris shoots in just in time before it gets to him.
Victor shoots more at it, making it run away farther.
"Let's go!" Karen yells.
They run under a fallen log, Chris turns around to shoot the creature.
"Yeah, suck it!" He yells.
He sprints to a ledge, jumping off without hesitation, but he busts his ankle once he lands.
"Ow, fuck!"

He looks up to see Victor, carrying Karen to the door. But he also sees the monster, diving for him. He shoots some nearby barrels to send it flying. Victor and Karen safely get in. Chris runs in just in time for them to shut the door.

Ashley, Ryan and Mike

The group heard noises coming from up above, voices that sounded like Chris's and Karen's.
"Are we still in the lodge?" Ryan asks.
"I guess so, but let's get up there. I think it's Chris and Karen," Mike says.
"I'm coming too! Chris is my best friend," Ashley says walking up to Mike.
"Okay, me, Ryan and Ashley will investigate. We'll give you the sign if it's okay," Mike says.
"Okay, sounds good,' Jeremy says.

They walk up the stairs, and into the main entrance of the lodge. They see Chris, Karen and Victor.

"Who the hell is this?" Ryan asks.
"Ryan! Mike! Ashley!" Chris says.
"I'm Victor, I helped four of your friends get out of the mines," he says.
"Who? Other than Chris and Karen?" Mike asks.
Matt, Jess and Sean run in at that moment.

"Guys!" Matt says joyfully.
"Shhh Matt, the psychos will hear you!" Ryan says.
"Oh believe me Ryan, those psychos are the least of our worries," Jess says.
"What do you mean?" Ashley asks.
"This mountain belongs to a creature much worse than any person imaginable. This mountain belongs to the wendigo," Victor answers.
"So that's what attacked me," Sean says.
"Okay so, I think we should deal with these psychos first," Mike says motioning Sam and Jeremy up the stairs.
"Yeah, I agree with Mike," Chris says.
"Okay, let's do that," Matt says.

The group sets up a plan, but before they can finish, a noxious gas gets in the room. It knocks everyone out.
