Chapter 1.

Tris's P.O.V

I awake to a bright light shining in my eyes and a cold metal table against my back. Where am I? I try to look around but my head won't seem too move. What is wrong with me? why can't I move? A doctor comes in with a strange needle and walks towards me. He is an old man dressed in a lab coat and squeaky rubber shoes. The cold needle injects it's serum into my limp arm and I look right in his eyes. He doesn't know I'm awake and I need to let him know that before I try anything else. Slowly a slow tingling sensation comes from my fingers and I feel energy shoot through the palms of my hand like someone had stuck my hand in an electrical socket. Slowly the tingling spreads throughout my body and I start to feel like I can move again. "Who are you?" I ask. The doctor smiles at me. But not one of those nice friendly smiles. It was a smile masking a secret that everyone else was in on but me, it was a smile that should have been comforting but was uncomfortable. "You have been pronounced dead in the city of Chicago." I gasp. What? Dead? What about Tobias? what about Christiana? What happened to them? He continues" You have been relocated to the city of Los Angles,California." He nods and smiles again this time a bit more sympathetic but looking kind of forced. "That is all" he says and closes the door behind him as he turns in his heel and leaves. California? Where is that? how far away is this from Chicago? How do I get out?
