'2,000 miles' I think. That's all I keep thinking waiting for the next idea to pop into my head. Tobias would know what to do if he were here. No stop, stop thinking about Tobias. He thinks you're dead remember? I look up and the sky has grown dark. " is it really night time already?" I think. I see the distant glow of a city in the distance. 'Maybe they will have a way of getting to Chicago.' I stand up and walk onto the main road. The soft glow is getting closer with every step. I pass a building with a dome and sit down against the building. I sit back and look out at the view. I can see part of the city with tall buildings. Taller than any we had in Chicago. So this must be the Los Angles the lady at the store was talking about. I see a path leading down to the city. I stand up and walk over to the path. There are a couple of trees blocking the path entrance. I easily climb over the trees but end up with some cuts and scratches on my legs. The path is steep and I slide a couple of times before reaching the bottom. When I reach the end of the path I see fields and fields of crops. They must go on for miles and miles in both directions. I walk thru the fields and people with baskets on their heads stand up and look at me. But two in general catch my attention. My heartbeat speeds up and then I gasp. "That's what they were wearing when I last saw them" I say under my breath. I walk towards them. "Mom,dad?" I ask with a tug in my heart.
