Chapter 2.

Tris's P.O.V

I force my body to get up off the cold metal table that somewhat resembled a operating table. I swung my feet around the edge of the table and let them dangle. I admired how they swung carelessly and I processed the new information. I tried pinching my self and unfortunately it wasn't a dream. I got off the bed and had to lean against the table because of the sudden dizziness I got from standing too fast. I slowly paced the room and tried to think of a way out. My thoughts kept getting interrupted by the thoughts of Tobias. ' what did he do when he found out I was"dead"?' 'did he tell them that was impossible?' 'did he cry?' I quickly dismissed that last thought. Even thought it would have been possible for Tobias to cry he would t let anyone see. I looked over at the door. I needed a way out and to find Tobias and tell him I was ok and most importantly alive. The door was unexpectedly unlocked. It swung open and I looked around. It was a stark white building with squeaky shoed doctors running around. I slipped out of the room and pulled my hoodie over my head. I started walking and a screaming noise sounded from back behind me. I quickened my pace and was grateful for the distraction. I pushed open the glass doors and was greeted with a warm breeze. I took my hoodie off and tied it around my waist. I looked around and saw a small building in the far distance. I walked towards it while cars zoomed past me. I entered the small shop and the door dinged. The lady siting behind the counter was reading a newspaper and barely noticed I was there. I loudly cleared my throat. She looked up and said "may I help you?" in a very rude tone. "Um, yes how far is it from here to chicago?" The lady looked up at me. " chicgao?" I nodded. " That's over 2,000 miles away!" I looked at her and grew quiet." Thank you" I mumbled. And walked outside and sat on a bench with my head in my hands.
