The next weeks I couldn't bring myself to leave my house. The pain from my brawl with Luca didn't do me any good especially with the voice of my mother from the grave in the form of a letter. To top it off, the scene of Ava being hit replayed so often, at one point I thought I was going mental.

And I would have called if Luca had not decided to call at the moment he had. "She's awake and stable El." He sounded so relieved and I felt so overwhelmed that I let out a shaky sigh with intense tear drops which had been threatening to fall since the moment Ava's angelic form reached the tarmac.

Or since I met her.

I tried to pry more information from him, but I didn't want to go too far especially since I could sense he was trying his best not to be pissed off at me. He was obviously tired and news of Ava's health must have eased the pressure he was bound to be feeling, hell it did for me and it was the wake up call I needed to get my head out of my ass.

"Luca. you wanna grab a cuppa at our usual, we should talk?"  By now I managed to suppress the tears and man up, I was ready to tell Luca everything.

About my feelings for Ava.

My dads plans for me and Tammy

And my mums letters.

It was noon and I waited for Luca at our favourite cafe 'Munchizz', we had discovered it our first year at uni and it became our regular meet up place.

The smell of the freshly roasted coffee beans in the cafe did wonders to take my mind of these past few days. Then Luca walked in and the darkness that had been consuming me, starts to leave me- my hibernation days slowly disappearing.

All it took was his eyes landing on me, replacing his blunt expression into a warm smile. I forgot about my discovery that night in my dads office- there he was. My little brother, my actual blood. The guy who has been my best friend for as long as I can remember, was actually my half brother.

Maybe.

I decided then and there that I wouldn't reveal this to him, not until I had all the proof I needed, I would ask his mum and get a DNA test. I would probably trust Samantha's word, but for what I had cooking in my mind for 'revenge' , a DNA test would be required.

But for now it was time for me to be their for my best friend and spill some secrets which were beginning to put a strain between us.

"Woah man! Hospital food sucks that bad? You had three portions of the Big English Breakfast." I laughed as a red tinge started to creep up on his face.

It felt so normal, I missed this just goofing around with my mate.

"Shut up you ass, I missed this place I forgot how delicious the food was." He wiped the corner of his mouth with the napkin, I sit back and analyse him. He has the same colour hair as me, the way his smirk plays up on his lips- with the same mischievous smile as mine; we have to be related.

"You wanna go play some football to relieve some stress?" I looked at him ready to agree then I remembered we were here for a reason and I couldn't ignore it. We had a lot to talk about.

"I don't think today. I need to talk to you first?" I feel my palms starting to get sweaty and cold.

"Okay, shoot." He was acting oblivious but I knew he felt the wedge between us too.

I fiddled with the cutlery before the over attentive waitress comes to clear the table, Luca's eyes never leaving mine "Go on then."

"My dad is forcing me to marry Tammy." I blurt out a bit too loud.
