WONKA'S WARS

This story is for my Pancake. I hope this lives up to everything you believed in.

This is also for anyone who took the time to read Oompa Loompa Takeover, and now, this one. You, my readers, mean the world to me.

THEN:

The room was warm and the air heavy with humidity. The small figure in the white coat that had just entered, seemed unaccustomed to it, his breathing labored. He blinked at the dimness around him, for a moment looking disorientated.

Doctor...

The small figure perked up, and found his way farther into the room. He then made a curt bow to the larger figure seated on the wooden throne. My lord...

The Oompa Loompa on the throne was taller than most of his kind, and stronger, his body covered in thick, sinewy muscle. In the dim light, only parts of his orange skin were visible, and his face was shaded in darkness. He tilted his head to the side as he surveyed his subsidiary, and his long dark green hair shifted across his face. State your business...

I have...a revolutionary idea. It is...radical to say the least, but I believe it could be our salvation...

I'm listening...

The smaller figure tried to remain calm, his hands making fists in his coat pockets. He opened his mind broadly and brought up in his head all his plans, all his ideas and his confidence in them. He tried to squelch down any hesitation and concerns he held. Presentation was everything.

When he was done, he closed the door to his mind down to where it had been. Anxiously he looked to his leader for a reaction.

But the larger Oompa Loompa was not looking at him, his gaze instead on the low hanging vines and branches above them. You are so sure that this...experiment, will work?

Absolutely, my lord.

The leader moved then, leaned forward into the beam of light that illuminated the ground at his feet. The light revealed that he was shirtless, his lower half dressed in tactical pants and heavy soled boots. A cold smile played at his lips. Doctor...your mission is foolish. What you wish to create, we have no need for. He shook his head.

My Lord...please, perhaps you did not—

I understood quite well. And...I believe that you think that this will work. But I worry that perhaps you have lost touch with what it is we are doing here. Have you forgotten what we are? I wonder...

I assure you, my lord—

Are you so sure, Doctor? I see how you dress, how you act. You even speak their language. And you have even gone so far as to become unaccustomed to... He indicated the room around him ...our natural atmosphere. I question your clarity of mind...

The Doctor wiped the sweat from his brow, his face grim. I would ask you to not forget the instrumental part I have played, and continue to play in this game.

The leader laughed. How could I forget? As he laughed, he brushed away the pile of hair that hung over the left side of his face. Now visible in the light was his missing left eye; in its place an Everlasting Gobstopper.

The Doctor clenched his jaw at the sight. That was the one injury he had never been asked to treat. All I ask for is your trust. There was a day, my lord, when you and I were not so different in views...

The leader considered him seriously for a long moment. The Doctor felt the door to his mind being pushed on, as if his lordship were testing him. He held strong, and stared back with certainty, to show that he was not intimidated. Finally, The leader relented and sat back in his throne. I'll allow it...The leader told him. ...for now. And you will give me updates every day.

The Doctor bowed quickly. Thank you my lord...You will not regret this decision.

The leader's one eye was steely and savage in its gaze. Make sure I don't...
